Play PC games on your PS3 - StreamMyGame launches Linux player

PSextreme reports this tasty morsel of ps3 gaming goodness:

Maybe I'm not as bright as i thought i was, but could someone answer this, plain and simple :

Will this allow me to play Battlefield2, Company of Heroes and World of Warcraft, on the PS3 ?

Because when i clicked on their video that says "Stream Games from a Windows PC to a PlayStation3", they showed'em controlling a toy copter through a PS3 controller, that's not a PCGame.

Meh, never mind, turns out all it does is stream the PC games to your PS3 and that's it, you still need a fully speced PC to run'em games and the PS3 got nothing to do with it.

The only benefit from this is if your PC is in the other room you can stream'em games to where you are just for the mere convenience of it.

Yes, but they're still PC games. The PS3 isn't changing them, and you need the same spec PC if you were running it on a PC. This is merely making the PS3 into a projector.

My 4 year old rig can still play Hl2/Bioshock/BF2/Gears fine. But hits a wall at Crysis.

Its a single proc amd 3.5ghz w/256mb nvidia something or other with 1 gig of mem.

This is a cool tool, which is only going to get improved on later

The linux code on ps3 does't run all that efficiently.

Therefore to expect modern ps3 games to run on the specialised ps3 architecture is going to be .... difficult.

Perhaps it will run older pc games. But new games? no way.

as playing lair on your PSP. Only the video is being streamed to the PS3.(im assuming the controls as well). This is only useful if you want to play PC games in the living room while your PC is in your bedroom or whatever. Pretty cool stuff.
