Can Microsoft capitalize on PS3 shortages with a new bundle and some decent games? (Japan)

In something of a surprise that's not really a surprise, the Xbox 360's price has been technically lowered in Japan. Or, at least, it will be -- effective November 2nd, 2006, a "Core System Release Anniversary Pack" Xbox 360 will be available for just 29,800 yen. This contains the console, all necessary cables, a wireless controller, and two games -- Ninety-Nine Nights and Project Gotham Racing 3. A 20 GB hard drive will be sold for just 9,995 yen extra.
