Microsoft's Entertainment President, Bach, Sold Stock as Xbox Problems Mounted

Regulatory filings indicate that Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division, has sold $6.2 million worth of company stock since May, a period during which mounting Xbox 360 technical problems have come to light.

While corporate executives often partake in scheduled selling plans to ensure they aren't perceived to be using insider information to sell stock for personal benefit, the report indicates that Bach's insider sales were not done according to a scheduled plan.

I can't believe how dumb that sounds, share are falling but yet everybody in the world uses Windows.(a whole lot) Do you see any real competitor to the windows market? Let me guess linux? you know anything about Stocks?
Ms's stocks haven't hit a high note for a while but their grip on that Market they so dominate is tight regardless of the prices. Knowing there isn't much competition , shareholder ain't going anywhere.

1 day after MS admitted their problems, their stock droped 2 cents. After five days of hammering by the press, it had dropped 1 dollar. On the sixth day, the stock was on the rise again, back up 20+ cents.

I'd say he got out just in time, by golly.

Is it such a big deal he sold shares? Who the fu(k cares? Regardless if you like MS or not, this is in no way an indication that MS is a sinking ship, there are no mass market alternatives to MS software (while I love using my OSX, it just does not have the same mass market as Windows) so they are in no way going anywhere. It was also noted that he has still a significant amount of shares left.

Things like this happen all the time, people are in reciept of shares all the time, he probably decided that he wanted a new holiday home or something. While I do agree that could be seen as an insider trading type scenario, it is purely speculation on our parts

Christ-on-a-bike, like it or not, the 360 is here to stay and rightly so, we need a healthy, competing market, it is the only way we will see true innovation.
