Halo 3: ODST preorders top 1.35 million in America

Halo 3: ODST preorders reach 1.35m the week before release as Wii Fit Plus makes a first appearance. Uncharted 2 also sees a strong increase this week.

Final Halo 3 preorders reached nearly 1.35 million this week, which should be good for an opening of nearly 2 million units in the Americas alone (over 2.5 million worldwide). VGChartz will be posting day 1 numbers when they become available in the next couple of days so stay tuned. Uncharted 2 saw a large boost this week as the marketing push begins for the game. At the current rate of preordering, the game could see an opening of 250,000 - 350,000 in the Americas in the first week. The full top 40 is listed:

How is loving Uncharted 2 hating on MS? Halo ODST could sell 10 gazzilion million bazillion to the tenth power copies and it still won't change the fact that it's a package of a 4 hour single player with an old multiplayer game from 2 years ago with no new maps for $60.

Actually according to all of the reviewers including the credible reviewer IGN and GameTrailers, it's a 6-8 hour campaign. Also, it includes 3 NEW maps that you can only get if you buy ODST and even though it's multiplayer is two years old, it's still one of the best, if not THE best there is. Those legit reviewers also said that FireFight is the best iteration of the survival game mode like Nazi Zombies and Horde; NZ and Horde are awesome so if FF is really better, it'll be unbelievable good.

I can understand if you bash a game if you don't like it, but get your facts straight so you don't look like a fanboy jackass next time.

I'm guessing 2-2.5 million by the end of the year for Uncharted 2. Hoping that the holiday season will help sales.

If it breaks that, it will be a complete blockbuster success on the PS3, but still nowhere as big of one as Halo ODST. If it is, I'll be dumbfounded for a few years.

PS3 exclusives don't exactly have a reputation for running out of the block with blockbuster sales although Uncharted had very long legs. Hopefully with a cheaper PS3 and seemingly a better sequel, it will do very well.

..that I really did not want this game to succeed so well? I mean I never want a good game to bomb or anything, but this seems more like a cash grab. And if they get away with it once, who's to stop them from doing it over and over and over again. Kotick is already an annoyance I don't like seeing my favorite franchises slowly kill themselves off as they prove valuable with little to know push forward at all.

They should have kept this as the expansion it was meant to be. Filler until Halo: Reach. Le sigh. Hopefully some of the huge profits from this will at least go towards something worthwhile to the gamers who continue to support all this.

I'll buy it because unlike you...I see a lot of replay value just like I do in every Halo game. The very reason I will drop 60 dollars is because I see already all the late nights staying up playing co-op campaign...or playing firefight for hours. In the end, those 60 bucks will be well worth it and that's why I like to see ODST or any other Halo game succeed.

hell how can I haven't played it yet. However, when Bungie themselves come out saying they planned to price it as an expansion at around $30, you have to assume the sudden price hike is merely there to take advantage of the fanbase who have supported the series.

I am not saying the game will be bad (obviously it's being well reviewed by the majority of outlets) I'm simply pointing out the obvious.

This is,they believe,unacceptable because ODST is 'just' an expansion.

But what IS an expansion?

If a sequel has the same graphics (possibily slightly improved) same layout,weapons and 'feel' to it then arent all games,not including new I.P's expansions at heart.

People know what the game is. The only people complaining, are the people on N4G, who are not even going to buy the game anyway. Everybody who is buying the game knows what it is. Most people that criticize this are just pointing out that this is creating precedence, like MW2 being 10$ more. It will work and MS will make the biggest profit margin of any Halo game. This is the most blatant money grab I have even seen aside from the Oblivion Horse Armor.
