Sony PS3 leads in Amazon UK Top Selling Video Games

The Sony PS3 leads the Video Game top seller chart on Amazon UK. The number 2 spot is held by the Nintendo Wii.

TheMART6267d ago

Isn't so strange just before a launch... Al fanboys. Then a few weeks after demand falls back, just like we've seen in USA and Japan.

Fanboys would have even bought only a PS3 shell when Barbie Ken said you had to build the 'computer' by yourself of components you can choose yourself. The first custom build console, which give you no games but can run linux...

bobbybrown6267d ago

You just posted some random news saying that the SNES sells more than the PS3 on a site that only sells ps3s from users and now you're like "oh it's obvious it's leading!"

Why can't you accept that you've made the wrong console choice and that you lose at life

shysun6267d ago

You're forgetting that the Europe launch has.....GAMES!Lots of them to.Motorstorm,VF5,R6:Vagas,Lai r ectect which the US and Japan launch was missing.

wolfgang6267d ago

Shysun : Ok so now that we have games for PS3, how come its still collecting dust on the retailers shelves ?

techie6267d ago (Edited 6267d ago )

I would hate to accuse you of being stupid wolfgang...but did you actually read his short and minimal post? He said the European launch will have games. One. The European Launch hasn't happened yet. Two. The games he is referring to haven't released yet...so we don't "now have the games" but will in March. Yes I expect those games to sell somemore ps3's - do I expect it to be outstanding? No - not at that price.

wolfgang6266d ago

Deepbrown : Ok you got me there. But what I should have said is that we already do have games, but they don't manage to sell the system like they should.

For God sake we already have good games, why don't you try using those as arguments for a change instead of always sticking to "just wait", maybe there would be more ps3 in the hand of gamers if potential gamers would get something else then "just wait" once in a while.

ps3 will dominate europe, its obvious

AngryHippo6267d ago

It's not obvious that ps3 will dominate Europe. I live in the UK, but how the hell can you make such a stupid comment like that. I agree pre-orders for the console are high, as it is with every new console on the market. PS3 is the most over-hyped console ever created, and one which people will soon realise is exactly that...over-hyped. It is a good console but it needs all of its killer apps in order to even have a chance in 'dominating Europe'. That will not happen until well into 2008 when the likes of Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone come out...struggling to think of any others. So don't make such a naive comment because you just sound like a d#ck.

techie6267d ago

Well when anyone validates a claim with 'comma it's obvious' you know it clearly isn't otherwise it wouldnt need that vaidation.

I think the sales of the ps3 in Europe will be healthy. And there are some great games coming out in 2007 - including MGS4...and probably Killzone 2

JHFKDFNFGJKFHDKF6267d ago

The xbox 360 was top of the charts before it launched as well... this is to be expected: the real test of Sony's popularity will be a year from now

shysun6267d ago

One year from now............MGS4,Heavenlysw ord,DMC4,FF12/VS,KZ2....the PS3 will be fine.;)

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

Paying Extra For Early Access Cannot Be The Industry Norm

Charging for early access has started to become a regular practice in several AAA games, and the gaming community should not tolerate this.

CrimsonWing696h ago

Don’t uh… don’t pay for it then? 🤷‍♂️ It’s 3 days early, let people who can’t wait pony up to pay for early access. I’d hope people have more control over themselves if they don’t want to pay extra. I personally, do not see an issue with the option. If I’m hyped for a game and they give you early access, I’ll pay. If it’s something I can wait to play on “actual release” I won’t pay extra. It’s as simple as that.

Crows906h ago

Except your entirely mistaken if you think it's "early access"

Theyre just charging you extra to play it on release. So gullible.

Obscure_Observer4h ago

"Theyre just charging you extra to play it on release. So gullible."

Not really.

In some cases, paying for early access will grant you access to play those games at the same time media outlets and reviewers are playing their copies.

Besides, it´s a single player game. It´s not like early access to MP competitive games like Battlefield which EA would grant a full week early access to those willing to pay; which gives a unfair advantage to those gamers and breaks the game´s balance.

CrimsonWing694h ago

are you playing it earlier than retail release?

If that’s the correct answer, how is it not early access?

Crows906h ago

It's not early access...it's playing on release...early access is when the game isn't finished and needs a little more time...you also get it months in advance.

Let's not get confused here..

Andrew3362h ago

You get access to the game before it goes live for people who purchased the standard version of the game... thus you are getting early access.

Crows901h ago

Nope...you get access to the game the day it goes live. Those who didn't pay extra are blocked from accessing it as a punishment for not paying full price

VersusDMC5h ago

Microsoft has been doing premium edition early access for awhile(Forza and Starfield recently) ...so why is it an issue now when Ubisoft does it?

It can't be the gamepass excuse as Ubisoft has day one subscriptions as well.

Obscure_Observer4h ago

I´ve paid for Starfield´s Premium Edition to get early access to the game, plus Shattered Space expansion.

I don´t regret my decision and I mighty pay for it again to get early access to Fable and TESVI.

Andrew3362h ago

@VincentVanBro yea like the kind of idiots who worry about how adults spend their money.

Crows901h ago

@andrew

Just like the kind of idiots who get scammed and don't realize it.

gold_drake4h ago

as long as people are paying for it, it will be a thing unfortunately.

the fear of missing out is ... huge. especially online.

CrimsonWing694h ago

I don’t think it’s about missing out. Think of it like a movie you’re hyped for. You can see it early if you pay extra or just wait until Friday when it officially releases.

It’s nothing more than that.

Crows901h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Nope. You're not seeing it early. Everyone else is seeing it late.

When a product releases to the public...that's the release date. If they company then chooses to block access to the product unless you pay extra...that's not early access...that's day 1 access.

CrimsonWing6918m ago(Edited 17m ago)

@Crows90

No, there’s a public release date and an early release date. Just like with movies having early screenings and then public screenings.

They let the public know the release date and then give people an option to play early by paying more.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil1d 3h ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai21h ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing698h ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle7h ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal6h ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

Abnor_Mal3h ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

*As per Wikipedia

boing16h ago(Edited 6h ago)

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
