
"Grand Theft Auto" appears to still be the video game industry's symbolic boogeyman and public relations nightmare.
The next edition of the wildly controversial and adult-rated series, "Grand Theft Auto IV," is scheduled for an April 29 release by publisher Take-Two Interactive Software.
But it's arriving at a time when the industry as a whole is characterized by perhaps the most broadly appealing content in its history, thanks in large part to the popularity of Nintendo's family-friendly Wii console. Rarely has the tension between the growing acceptance for games and apprehension about their influence been in sharper focus.
