While I complain and believe they should have included original NFS, I actually really love this list because aside from nostalogic factor, it has my top 2 all time favorite racing games: Burnout and Carmageddon.

Carmageddon and better still, Carmageddon 2 still stand as my all time favorites. So much humor and an infinite amount of things to do and try besides just racing. Even if they just updated things and added maps and cars from the old game and released again, I would buy.

Why Pinball Mode has remained dead in games for so long is a mystery to me :)

This is by no means an accusation,

When you say "the physics just suck" in relation to GT, what data is your summarization based on?

Have you driven the real cars on the real tracks to compare and come to this conclusion or is it based on your 'perceived characteristics' on how they should handle and feel?

Baring in mind that in real life, fear is the biggest factor to hamper laptime comparisons with game lap times. The fact that many professional drivers and car enthusiast sites have actually complemented GT or even actually entertained real life comparisons to this game is surely testament to GT being more than just a 'sucky' physics model?

I've spent more time on the Gran Turismo series than any other game. I used to hate racing games but GT changed my mind. The only game that comes close to playtime is Diablo 2.

No Daytona USA?!! How can you possibly skip one the the biggest racing games of all time and a smash hit in arcades everywhere? I also didn't notice Need for Speed, yet we've got Carmegeddon?!!! Complete failure.

Yeah Daytona USA should've been on the list..but I think that falls in under the OutRun category too. I also wanted to see Destruction Derby on the list with all of the physical damage on the cars. Oh well, cant win them all

7.2 - Daytona, eh what?

Daytona? What? Never heard of it, maybe its because I'm from europe and that game appeals to americans, I bet the people doing this were thinking on a global scale. It's like when I see Madden as one of the most important games ever, never played it and much like everybody else outside of the US (a vaaaast amount of people, who prefer PES or FIFA as their main sports game).. never will.
The list is pretty ok, maybe would have added original nfs or colin mcrae.
Oh, and forza 2? Never.

12 - Just to remind people.....

They said "undisputed king of the next-gen realistic racers" NEXT GEN! But for real it should have been GT for most important. It started the competition for realism. Also the part where it says, "Sony, where's our PS3 Gran Turismo"? Eh? Eh? is plain stupid, since everyone knows that a next gen GT is on the way and the prologue is almost here. Or maybe they don't?
