Heavy Rain - Hassan's Shop Gameplay Video

Carl Rushworth - "Heavy Rain was a completely unique experience to me this weekend. I haven't played Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) so i was completely new to the Quantic Dream gaming experience. And what an experience it turned out to be.

The demo i played consisted of 2 levels, "Hassan's Shop" and "Mad Jack". To keep this short(ish) and easy to read, i will only preview the Hassan's Shop level. Although if there is demand for it, i will also do the "Mad Jack" level sometime this week.

The level starts with Detective Scott Shelby entering the shop. The graphics are really impressive. When i first gained control of Scott i wasn't fully aware that the previous small cutscene had infact finished. You need to walk up to the counter to start a conversation with Hassan."

They should leave the QTE to games that are more suited to it. I mean the graphics in Heavy Rain are mildly impressive, but the QTE simply look awkward and out of place. Take for example God of War 3 that, vice versa, has really got a hold of how to incorporate QTE into a game properly, but unfortunately appears to be lacking in the graphical department.

or you sit there playing gears rocking back and forth muttering to yourself 'this is still the pinnacle' over an over again..... such is the scale of your fanboyish fever

on topic the author who ACTUALLY played the game said its already a match for uncharted 2 in the graphical department yet it has a few months to go...u2 could lose its graphical crown :) wish we would see new footage though tired of that shop gameplay
