While I liked the sound of the game, the actual screen shots are a mild let down. I was hoping for that dark twisted world shown on the magazine (EGM?). The screen shots don't capture the feel that the preview art had. Either way I will still keep track of this game.

After seeing that AMAZING concept art, I'm sort of let down by these screenshots. They really fail to capture that strange, dark, moody, and even creepy atmosphere that the art had.

I mean, for a Wii game it does look decent, but the ATMOSPHERE is not there.

...Mickey Mouse doesn't have as much clout as people think. I have nieces and nephews that have no idea who Mickey Mouse is. Likewise if they're expecting the usual Wii crowd to buy this game they are sadly mistake.

Sales for this game will suck and people will complain and b!tch about how no one buys non Wii-Fit games. Mark my words and bookmark this page. They should consider releasing this game as a PSN Live game to recoup their loses now.

I'm agreeing with you. The lighting, art work, modeling are all sub par with even the mediocre Wii platformers out there. Hopefully they hire in some new artists and do something with the game engine to make the lighting better, or else it will be named Epic Fail Mickey.

On the other hand, what's wrong with expecting the game to reflect the mood of the concept art? It's not like all the concepts were in b&w either. There are some on that very page in color.

It looks surreal enough...But looking at the screens it's impossible to tell this is supposed to be steampunk or post-apocalyptic or anything else they talked about.

I guess we'll have to look at this as a progress report. It has to get better though.

what's even worse. HD wasn't even a requirement until MSFT and Sony told them it was. HD was just another step in gaming. I try to tell my nephews about games like zelda oot, mario 64, ff7, skies of arcadia, half life. First thing out they mouth is those games don't look; and I have to remind them you're looking at these games from a 2009 perspective. Stop counting pixels and actually play the games and judge the gameplay, etc,.

yes graphics are overrated when it comes to gameplay, but the wii is a horrible horrible system. I find it funny that you bring up old games to your nephews yet you sit here and defend the wii. The wii is easily one of the worst consoles of all time. Nintendo not only dropped the ball, they tripped over their feet at the 1 yard line and fell on their face. Yes the consoles are selling like hotcakes but at what cost? 90% of the games on the console are complete garbage and motion controls have not panned out the way people expected it to. Sure they work good for metroid prime but everything else is a waggle fest. The wii blows. Buy your nephews a super nintendo if you want them to get associated with classic nintendo gaming.

Compared to PS3/360 games, but it looks pretty good for a Wii game imo. Definitely worth checking out, as for Halo you obviously haven't played it. It's been out for 2 years and it still looks fresh.
