The game may look like Ico, but honestly even Ico was influenced by other games such as Out of this World.

The influence the designer gives doesn't look a thing like the game.

1.1 - SOTC
I believe SOTC was somewhat influenced by the movie: The Never Ending Story

The young hero Atreyu and his horse traveling to distant lands in search of The Nothing and destory it in order to save the deathly ill empress. He uses her medalion to guide his way to his destination.

Special guest

Did you even play SOTC? Did you even watch the Never Ending Story?

Edited: Does any really think he will come out and admit he copied?

Edit 2: SOTC is one of my favorite games ever and Never Ending Story was one of my favorite movies as a kid and they are nothing alike. in fact Clash of the Titans have more in common with The Never Ending Story that SOTC.

Yes, and Yes. Read my original post again. I said SOMEWHAT Influenced.

(RE: The Neverending Story as a storyline was nothing a like, but there were some aspects about the SOTC game that were similar. I'm not saying these similarities were obvious, but to me, it made me kinda wonder. Anyway, just my opinion based on my observation.)

1.4 - The game is clearly not influenced by Ico nor SotC.
That is, if you watched the video trailer.

But the official images that they released CLEARLY looked inspired by Ico and SotC.

I think they were only trying to catch people's attentions by using in-game screenshots that looked like Ico and SotC.

Another possibility is that... great minds think alike. Or in this case, creative minds.

More Miyazaki than Ico, maybe even a little Steamboy in there.

The fact the boy's horse is named Yorda and the princess he rescues name is Agro is also completely random and not influenced in any way by Ico/SotC

I think he did that on purpose.

Also, the woman in SotC is named Mono (although her name is never spoken, at least that I remember).

who ever said that ico had absolutley no influence on the game isnt telling the truth.

I beleive that they werent trying to make an ico clone, but denying any influence at all is just insane.
