Great news that the game is still in development. It had become vaporware at this point but it was one of the games I was looking forward to on PS3. I am on of those people who believe that a single platform focus makes for great games. Look at what we've seen recently of Infamous and Uncharted 2 on the PS3 and what we've seen of Splinter Cell Conviction and Alan Wake.

What have you seen that makes you excited? Nothing about this game has a history. The developer that is supposedly work on this game has never made a game before, and the publisher has only localized a few PSP and DS games from Japan. There is the CGI trailer, but what does that mean?

It's supposed to release with a movie but we have heard nothing of that either. We haven't seen them at E3 or any other trade show either. Until I get some gameplay, this game is vaporware.

Even today multiplats aren't "pretty much identical". I've compared quite a few recent games and the 360 is still coming out ahead. Recent comparisons and face offs from Digital Foundry, Lens of Truth and others show the same thing. But never mind, you guys will just deny it to the ends of the earth.

I never understood what the hype over this game was either. Especially with people talking like "omg this is a must-have, one of the most awesome games ever" (well, I kinda understood it from some. being as there are some of those extreme fanboys that will hype anything when it's allegedly exclusive). But for the others, I never saw the appeal of this. I'll wait til I actually see the game before making up my mind on whether it's even worth considering.

There is a vast difference between being hyped for this game over a CGI trailer and being hyped over FF14 or Versus because of a CGI trailer. Square and Final Fantasy are established names with big followings. WarDevil and Digi-guys have done nothing and nobody knows anything about them. So really, it's the name that has people hyped for FFVersus and 14, not the CGI trailer. This game has only the trailer though, with no name to back it.

But yea, I'll consider this to be vaporware still until they actually show something as proof.

It is different. We know who is making Final Fantasy, the developer has a long distinguished history of titles. The director of FFv13 is the same guy who did Kingdom Hearts. Final Fantasy has been one of the most consistent franchises in gaming.

WarDevil has nothing that points to it being a good game. If I saw some gameplay that looked fun then I'd agree with you and I'd look forward to this, as well. But we know nothing of the developer and the publisher has a very weak history.

What other then a CGI trailer gets you so exited for this game?

Frankly, I'll believe the game exists when I see something real-like gameplay five years after the project was first announced(as a multiplatform at the time as well). My friend applied for a job on the game when advertised in Jan this year and never even got a reply(he'd been working on a couple of PS3 games and has since gone to work for R* in Leeds and was very qualified for the Digiguys posting)which he said is very odd at that level-he felt they were either looking for more funding by postig the ads or he was completely overlooked as his application was lost at their end.

I must say that the announcement today seems like they must have got some cash from somewhere but still when we haven't had any actual news in ages or ever seen gameplay I wouldn't get too excited. I've wasted too much time researching the game only to come up with nothing but broken promises and odd practises that I doubt we'll ever see the game. Announcing it for 360 again only, imo, means another set of games will get the run around. There's little to suggest we'll seee anything ever-let alone soon!

Not only that, but the CGI wasn't very good. Notice how the protagonist (I assume) trust the weapon into the guy laying on the floor in the teaser video. The speed that it does it at looked weird, not to mention the movement look awkward.

Now it might be too early, and you should judge the game until some game play is released, but that teaser didn't tease me much, rather turn me off.

Take it from me (and I doubt IGN have looked into this much more than me-after all what they've done here is just respond to a press release which is ALL you ever get to hear about the game)there's VERY little reason to feel we'll see this on any platform soon. Do you think IGN were lying when it was just a PS3 game? Why hasn't that ever appeared in any playable form? The game was announced before either 360 or PS3 were launched and has been slated for release every year since 2007!

I suspect the dev to have posted non existent positions to allay fears the project was dead and feel our only hope of getting the game rests on whether they managed to get some cash from somewhere as it all reeks of a small dev being over ambitious and getting into difficulties. After aboout 5 years(of which half of them had this as a multi anyway as it was due for 360 from initial announcement, as reported in the mightly IGN-but still no playable hands on, no gameplay vids no nothing!)I've got tired of waiting and even DNF had this much for us to chew on!

PS3 is the reason it's not out running the way it was suppose to when they showed it running on PC and wanted it for 360 back in the day.

The PS3 version will be running at 30 FPS with lower resolution. Developers always talk sh*t when they get in fights with Microsoft and go to Sony(fights about wanting to use more discs)

back in 2007 it was somewhat confirmed to be a PS3 exclusive...so fanboys on both sides went nuts, as there was very little out at that point for either system...PS3 guys said it would be great, 360 guys said it would suck...now its pretty much confirmed that its multiplat again...so be it...

I don't know if any actual gameplay footage was ever released...there were a few trailers, but most likely pre-rendered considering how early on that was...never looked overly impressive imo, but nothing was really shown...

with GoW III on the immediate horizon...I have zero interest right now though...

The proof is in the games.Any "Next gen" game made for PS3/360 can never take full advantage of Blu-ray space.And the licensing fee's per-dvd from Microsoft hinder profit.
