Well the way I think about it is: Twilight Princess did everything right but nothing new. It's a very good game just didn't do anything differently.

If they can do TP minus the dog parts then I'm sold.
I hated the dog portions of the game, it was nothing more than the game Dog's Life.
(and i played Dog's Life)

A little off topic, but anyone notice the new ads here on N4G for mail order brides from Russia? Holy crap that is a new low for the human species as a whole. :(

After playing Wind Waker and Majora's Mask, I was slightly disappointed with Twilight Princess. Wind Waker took on a new artistic direction, while Majora's Mask took on some new gamplay elements. In comparison to those two the only thing that TP did different was the light/dark world, but that was done kind of in a Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. Don't get me wrong, any Zelda game is amazing, but some just shine a little more than others.

Windwaker did new things, but no one liked it over OOT. To be honest I would want Majora's Mask style game this generation.

Absolutely loved Majora's Mask. Out of all the Zelda games I have played, it has been the best. (In its time) the world felt so alive and it all unfolded in front of you as it crept towards oblivion. Each of the the morphing masks were enjoyable and controlled very well in their respective environments. I remember doing the lengthy glitch to get the Fierce Deity's Mask outside in the real world. Good times. Hope they try do something different in the next entry.
(Just remembered what also left a bad taste in my mouth after playing TP, no magic)

TP wasn't bad artstyle wise, but it doesn't last long to remember it.
Windwaker was awesome, and don't give a damn what people say but that game was just magical. They should totally try something different with the art-style.

2.1 - I loved Wind Waker too
Maybe because it was the first one I played, but I played Ocarina of time straight after(got it with it I think along with another Zelda I can't remember). By the time I played Twilight Princess the series felt stale, it needs something new.

you should play the Gameboy series, they always have new ways to solve a puzzle.
As for windwaker, i think zelda series will fit very well with that artstyle... I just don't see the zelda series being all too realistic in artstyle. It doesn't bring the magic in at all( ok it depends on what kind of an artstyle it will be). Windwaker gives this feeling only Majora's Mask and perhaps few of the gameboy games could give.
Windwaker is better than OOT and TP. ( obviously IMO)

Ninetndo, for me, is getting stale. They need someone like Suda 51 to come in and revitalize their franchises for a more mature audience. Imagine Zelda with serious perspective, it would be awesome. I can only save a princess so many times before I become to loathe her. Miyamoto is holding these franchises back by limiting the story elements.

" They need someone like Suda 51 to come in and revitalize their franchises for a more mature audience"
Bah, people think companies should grow with them.
I mean every year new young gamers ( AKA NOOBS ) join the market.
Think about it.
"magine Zelda with serious perspective, it would be awesome. I can only save a princess so many times before I become to loathe her. Miyamoto is holding these franchises back by limiting the story elements."
Zelda in Windwaker style was "awesome" too.
Sure they could put more thought to the story elements, but even though i dont think TP was the best one made, it still put more emphasize on story telling.
As far as story telling goes, it is there, just not on a bigger scale.
Like i said Windwaker is awesome too, and its not "realistic" in any sense. There are different ways of story telling. Sure Zelda needs to be saved, but in TP and Windwaker ( pretty much as OOT) the story is told/explained in a way that it got more to do than with saving the princess.
Also not every game involves zelda or ganon, and story are different there.
I dont think story or looks are the problem of zelda to be " WOW " again.
I think they need to introduce many new Items and new ways to solve puzzles in awesome(?) new temples.
long post...

There were some blocky and muddy textures, but overall, I thought Twilight Princess looked great. Still holds up well, IMO (not as well as WW, though).
I think it's safe to say that the map is gonna be huge (bigger than TP), so with a world that big, there's only so much you can push out of the Wii. Motion Plus will be the attraction here, not the graphics.

they need to put more secondary dungeons, more overworld action, less temples and keep the TP style, it's the best zelda artstyle so far, followed by minish cap...
and perhaps, more water? like, hyrule have a lake... and that it -_- c'mon, give us a sea of sorts... and a boat to ride on it!!! (remembers the majora's mask bay... ahhhh good times...)
