YEAH! Home game launching will be sweet with this one. My HOME friends and I can just launch the game from our apartments or after a game of pool & bowling in the gaming plaza then return when we're done.

Once co-op starts being the norm for a lot of PS3 exclusives, with HOME game launching being the future norm for these games, this will be so sweet cause I'm banking on having some great Uncharted co-op games with gamers on HOME later this year.

We've never jabbed at them once, and this is the 5 or 6th time they have done it to us.

They steal our ideas, and content, but they are talented writers. I have respect for them. It's sad they aren't confident in their own site enough that they have to stoop to jealously, and envy and try and belittle PSLS.

I've even invited them to come out and have a few beers with us at E3. But, they weren't even at E3.

I'd be more than happy to be friendly with them, but they just don't like us "yankees".

I wouldn't have posted it this afternoon until the site went live, but apart from The Punisher it /is/ all confirmed as far as we know. We have to be careful about using terms like "confirmed" because people were taking our words as gospel on the EU Blog, which isn't fair.

@Redempteur I was talking not about the whole home portion it's self but rather making people pay for the rooms. That's why I said guess they gotta charge for something if they are not charging for the PSN service. Plus I've downloaded a couple of games already on the PS3. The internet connection is still there with XBL Silver you know. You pay for a premium service. Because playing on PSN nowhere gets near the XBL experience. And I can know, I own both consoles.

PSN = like eating from the trash bin in the park like a homeless guy. It's free, it'll feed ya, but it tastes bad and has bacteria all over. And not enjoying yourself, it frustrates. It makes it difficult to meet up with friends even...

XBL = like eating in a great restaurant. You pay, but you experience great food, have a great time and it makes it as smooth for you to play with friends as possible.

I don't got MGS4? Yes I got it, bought the Platinum version for the PS3, just for the collection. Not much playing, because its close to watching a BluRay movie. Pretty boring.

But hey, the Metal Gear franchise jumped ship as we've all seen last E3, so whats up with that?

and since you got mgs4 just for the collection, im guessing you have mgs 1 to 3 as well. Then you should very well know by now that long cut scenes have always been a part of the mgs series.
So i dunno why u bought mgs4 and a ps3 when you always say that mgs4 is boring and continuously bash the ps3.

So do yourself and the world a favor by selling ur ps3 and mgs4 to someone who will enjoy it.

Come on dude, you know the deal: no cross game voice chat, no cross game invites for co-op/multiplayer, no party system to take a group of people with ya through many games and they stay together.

That kind of stuff. Heck, I was hosting a KZ2 N4G match last Saturday and after I had made the room (I had allways joined others, never started one myself), I had no idea how to invite friends. No invitation option which they can click on and jump in like on XBL. I only could send them a private message, which I have to type what I am doing and they have to search your room up so they can jump in (takes some time for each friend you want to invite, in this specific case I wanted to invite about 20 N4G people and how retarded is it that they have to look manually for your game...). Its slow, last gen and totally useless!

Web browsing is done on my laptop... I don't use the PS3 webbrowser, ever. So whats the use of that? A computer is a computer, a console is a console. But I see you want it to be a computer. Therefore there are forced PC like installations like MGS4 also has annoying onces.

Dude, XBL Silver doesn't cost anything, you can do all you can as with Gold, just not online gaming.

I played Solid Snake, Metal Gear II on the MSX-2, liked it back then. But I've changed as a gamer and I don't like the 40 sec. playing 5 mins cutscene so much anymore. I just collect games and this one fitted in the collection.

Actually I only bought the PS3 for LittleBigPlanet. That game is new, fresh and there is nothing like it on another system, its like Super Mario on steroids with 4 players in the same screen. Thats why. Not for generic KZ2. And Uncharted 2 at the end of this year, next year God of War III. For the rest not so much. I bought MGS4 as said, for the collection. I can like one game, like LBP, but still disagree with Sony's arrogant choices and bad overpromising & underdelivering thus hate them/the hardware for that, right? Plus I just have the money to burn, I don't care.

Then why do you crap on about features that other people probably wouldn't want to pay for then? The web browser is a great feature of the PS3 and basically eliminates the need for a computer, not to mention you don't need to pay for the use of the web browser, it is free, so why not use it?

No it isn't. LBP is rated 9.5 out of 10 as PS3 exclusive, which is higher then MGS4.

Super Mario Galaxy got rated higher on 9.8 out of 10.

And yes, LBP is a better game then MGS4.

Yes, those features make a community feel alive. When I am playing for example Gears, meanwhile I am voicechatting with a friend while he is playing for example Fifa 09. We can just talk about everyday life, or we talk what game to do next. I don't have to go out of the game and type messages for it like in PSN. PSN is slow and takes out the feeling having a community. Furthermore, quickly from Gears co-op sending him a message to jump in. He clicks agree, gets in the Gears disc and instantly jumps in. Its fast. Same with multiplayer rooms. I can invite many people with one click. I experienced with KZ2 its freaking slow and no fun to send that much invites.

Crying about 50 bucks a year? Thats 5 bucks a month max that makes my game experience better then any game I have bought for my POS3. As long as PSN keeps trying, for allmost 3 years already to get these features, but doesn't succeed yes, I am glad to still pay and enjoy my online gaming instead that it annoys me as on PSN it does.

IF PSN gets this features, if they EVER will (with the PS4 they might), and XBL wouldn't evolve, yes I would think about cancelling it. Although I might not because all my online friends are on XBL. But I can assure you, MS invests in the right improvements for XBL, so it'll be lightyears ahead again as soon as Sony has catched up with the current features. MS invests in the right stuff, Sony keeps pumping millions into @ Homo, a webbrowser, installing Linux that no one uses, a sad PSP rip-off interface thats not intuitive and more of that nonsense.

The thing is you play down a feature like the web browser but talk up the features like cross-game chat and invites.

As far as I'm concerned as long as there are in-game invites and voice chat there you shouldn't really be having to pay $50 to do this while playing other games. If I need to chat to my mates I just send them a quick message via the (not so slow) PSN and then they can join the game I'm in (I've never had issues with anyone trying to join a match in Killzone 2, Resistance, FIFA, whatever it may be, maybe you need to bone up on the interfaces of several of these games. Killzone 2's isn't THAT hard).

Yet a web browser basically eliminates the need for a computer, which can save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

It's not a matter of 'crying over $50', it's just that should you really be paying it for these minor services?

Not saying Linux on normal PC's isn't used... Its not so much used on the PS3 that is. I know no one that uses it at all. I never bothered to get it working, its just not convenient. A laptop or desktop computer is.

In PSN I have to type a message to the person saying what and how, if the keyboard isn't connected its even slower on controller. Plus, then they have to search your game. Its just last last gen online gaming that is. You don't have ingame voice chat cross game. You simply don't have it period.

The ideal situatio would be not paying for XBL ofcourse. But again, as long as my gaming experience get better that way then ANY game I could buy every year on the PS3, its worth it. And last Saturday I found it out painfully. Once everyone in KZ2 runs nice, but then if you want to switch games, you have to go through the painfull process all over again...

Honestly, you go to using the '12 year olds surf porn' excuse? HONESLTY?! WOW. I don't think I have searched for porn once using my web browser. I know I have used plenty of sites though (N4G as an example), not once has one site not worked for me. It's not lightning quick sure, but it's not debilitatingly slow, it gets the job done. But hey, it's better than NOT having one and having Twitter and Facebook instead (especially when both features are available on the PS3 web browser). ;)

You make it seem so much harder than it really is. If the keyboard isn't connected it's even slower on controller? So why wouldn't the keyboard be connected?

Honestly I have never had an issue trying to get someone in my game, 90% of the time I want to play FIFA with someone I either send a message or get a message from my mate saying "FIFA?" and then I jump into the game and they send me the invite. Cross game invites certainly aren't something I am dying for I can tell you now (especially not worth a fee for).

It really isn't as hard as you make it out to be.

Gears sells more because it is advertised more, yes it may or may not be more fun, it may or may not cater to certain age groups more, but gosh no one can argue with the promotional mastery of MS when it comes to cross product promotions.
