EA Fifa 09 Predicts Brazil Win Over U.S.

Koku Gamer writes: "With all the anticipation we thought it would be a great idea to put in Fifa 09 and see what the game thinks. After we simulated the game, the result was somewhat surprising. The game picks Brazil to win in penalty kicks taking it 3-2 overall, with a 1-1 score at the end of regulation, going in to overtime. Read on for statistics and real time result."

I think the U.S. has definitely imporved over the recent years and can now be a competitor instead of an embarasement.

The US team has delivered a great lesson of disciplined football. I was highly surprised to see them scoring the two first goals but they did it by a perfect combination of discipline in defense and effective attack.

Brazil however, it always Brazil and they showed why they are the only team in the world that has won give World Cups. They deserved to win but the US was a great rival.

Indeed Deadly, they have come a long way, I still even doubt them, but they keep improving which is good, they might just be a competitor at Fifa 10, we'll see.

ELvin it's now 2-2, so maybe the prediction is not too bad.

I agree to a point. Brazil didn'teven have their best players on the field. It's good to see that the backups can win for Brazil, USA is still disappointed and is hanging out on the field.

6.2 - Well...
If Brazil had lost, you would have seen at least one or two of their guys crying. The US however, after their defeat, just looked bummed out. I think that shows you the difference in culture between the two countries. Brazil is very much of the European-minded "soccer comes first" mentality, where as, and I hate to say this, soccer just isn't that important to the United States. I think that making it this far was vindication enough for them.

I'd like to see more "simulation" but done with custom players with extreme differences in abilities. I've never really played any Fifa games, is that even possible to see how the game mechanics work?

yeah, and spain fielded a pretty strong team aswell. Its good to see the USA competing with the big football nations makes for better competition. They've got a couple of players playing in the prem league aswell so they definately have a good team at the moment. Maybe someone from the US could tell me if Beckham has had much impact on football as a mainstream sport over there?

Haha Beckham? He hasn't done anything, I live in Colorado, they ran some ads when he came but nobody really cared. If anything he was more enticing to the paparazzi plastering his face all over the front of magazines cuz he's purdy. Personally I'd rather see his wife haha

I dont know how bad the new orleans saints are.
But here is the world wide ranking for football (soccer) teams.

http://www.fifa.com/worldfo...

As you can see the dutch team is in the second spot.
The dutch team had a couple of final matches on the WC, but never managed to win them.
They did win the euro championship once.

players dont really give a sh!t when they are not playing for the cup (be it WC or Euro or ...) so the ranking dont really represent the strength of the team. But hey they could win the WC if they really try...

15 - they were close with their predictions
only 3-2 was the full time score, to Brazil. I'm surprised by USA though. 2-0 up on Brazil at half time? They really are improving a lot. They surely have no reason to hang their heads at all with how they performed. They made Brazil work for their win, man.

Well, to be rigorous you should repeat the experiment at least 60 times then compute the standard deviation and see if the score is significant at 95%... meh back to work..
