Although bringing RE5 to Wii would be great I'm more excited about Darkside Chronicles personally.

RE5 is great, a Wii port might not be so great

The beautiful game isn't going to look so good playing on the Wii, just look at the PS2 shooter Black & Killzone (1) compared to The Conduit.

Actually, looks and engine capabilities are 2 different things.

Quantum 3 engine is obviously doing more on screen.

Next to that HVS also stated that its important to understand the multilayered texturing of the ATI chip inside the Wii.
And obviously they are one of the FEW who actually achieved such thing.
So who says black isn't possible on the Wii?

( the game looked great, but it isn't doing as much on screen as the conduit is).

Even lots RE fans say that RE4 is better, so not seeing the problem in downgraded visuals.

Killzone looked rubbish(well it didn't look bad but it wasn't groundbreaking). Black looked awesome but it would definately be possible on the Wii. Ever seen the Gamecube Rogue Squadron games?

A Resident Evil 5 port would only be great for Wii owners that have no access to a Xbox 360/PS3. I would like to see some sort of Wii game that is not just on rails, but something that expands on Resident Evil 4. Heck, even a Resident Evil 2 remake using the RE4 engine would rock...

RE5 on PS360 us possibly the best looking multi plat thus far but that apart was it very good? Not in my book. Sure, the co-op with a mate or someone with a clue was a real blast BUT the SP was terribly poor, imo. Hobbled by the clumsy, jittery inventory system(that you had to deal with twice!)and other aspects of having forced co-op with an npc it turned into little more than an exercise in frutration-and failed to feel much like a Resi game at all. A little survival(if you could get past Sheva being way less clever than she needed to be)but no horror(a few jumps apart)meant those without broadband or with a crap connection had zero value-or those looking for something like RE of old.

RE4 was great on all platforms-but best on the Wii where the controls found a real balance and sweetness-they seemed to give you less ammo as well, maybe cos of this? If you feel like I do then taking things out(co-op in SP and prolly online, a little step back in looks and all the fripperies that having Sheva around entailed like extra inventories)may give the game back some of it's RE heritage as the good stuff wouldn't be swallowed by the frustration of the HD version-and you'd have those amazingly tight controls as well.

If they choose to do this right(plus SF4 which chould be OK on Wii too)then I think it could end up a far more satisfying SP and RE game than what we saw on PS360(the first RE game I ever traded in btw-and I bought nearly every release, even Outbreak and UC!). If they concentrate on getting the SP tight it might just shine gameplaywise-on the other hand we may end up with another insult to our instincys like CTYD was. Just hope they don't worry about it being too much like RE4 as the best parts of RE5 were those lifted from that game.

1.7 - If this goes to Wii... then F@CK YOU CAPCOM!!!!!
Capocom makes RE-remakes of the devine R.E. 1,3 and Zero to the Nintendo systems But when it comes to Ps3 or 360 they just flip the bird. and now they will try to "port" (yeah right) RE 5 to the Wii...
well... as i said before... F@CK YOU CAPCOM!

yeah, but let's face it, Capcom wasn't able to get Lost Planet running on the PS3 as well as the 360 version, despite releasing it months after and Dead Rising Chop til you drop wasn't the game it could have been. It seems Capcom is able to deliver some great games this generation, but when it comes to porting it to another platform after the initial release, they have been decent at best.

Edit : I forgot about Okami and RE4, which were better on the Wii.

is this confirmed or are people taking the guys quote out of context? This is the first i've heard of this, so i might've missed something.

i wonder how the co-op would work.

Also, i guess good news for people who only own a wii, but to be honest, re5 really isn't that good of a game. It is alot of fun to play but if you haven't played it i recommend to go into the game not expecting a typical resident evil experience. That might be a good thing for some people though.

re5 was definitely more "good" than "bad" imo. if there's one thing that i WISH they would upgrade, its the movement scheme. who the hell plants their feet in the ground to shoot when a hoard of zombie-like beings are charging (er.. *slowly walking*) towards you?

shooting + MOVING capcom. shooting + moving...

Would you honestly think "shoot and move" would be needed if they just had RE4 controls for a Wii version? They were almost too good as it was. and the RE5 controls were one of the very few things that made RE5 feel like RE at all-I didn't have any problem with them.

The game is not that good!

I'm a big fan of Resident Evil, and i loved RE4!!! RE5 was tid bit boring. I finished once... but gave up on the beginning of the 2nd playthrough.

It will probably use RE4 graphic engine

i beat the game 3 times, will be done with 4th time and will start fifth time again with my girl friend.

single player yeah the game isn't as fun, but split screen i luv it and its the only game i cud beat this many times in a row.

i think RE5's story was alot better, was just boring in the begining

RE4's while it was fun i think had the worst story. freakin ashley getting kiidnapped 5000 times, u miss one shot and game over just so when u finish she gets kidnapped for real anyway..... thats what the game consisted of. and Krauser was lame lol

hope the next one stars claire or jill.....tho jill hasn't had a game since 3 lol.

a co-op game with Jill and claire! omg amazing! lol

6 - If RE5 comes to the Wii, it will be the definiative version
simply based on controls, since the Wiimote scheme for RE4 was great.
They could use the RE4 engine and make it look somewhat decent, but Capcom is doing what devs should have been doing, Port the multiplats to all consoles, to make more money.

You know Wii is the leading console so make games for it.

6.1 - they do manke games for it (note i did not disagree with u)
plenty, y u think darkside chronicles

and sorry but ps3 and 360 combined is a bigger install base than wii alone so theres more money in it.

second wii's power isnt enough for people to only make games on it. people have full creative power on ps3/360 so they can make it pretty, lots and lots of enemies with no lag or glitches etc etc. i think they just wanna fully realize it rather than work with what they had again last generation.

main reason RE5 was made on ps3/360 tho is it was in development before wii even came out. i doubt anyone knew it was gonna succeed the way it did

Midgard228 you don't have full creative power on the HD systems. You can use better textures maybe and effects but the game play isn't any better, the overall game isn't that much better. Also art wise I think normal maps are being over used and over designed to get the approval of graphic whores and realism cheerleaders.

Res evil 4 almost looks like res evil 5 with out the normal maps. There are many place where you can get 20 zombies on screen in res evil 4 and they react the same way as in 5.

Another thing is porting to the 360 is expensive and making the game on the PS3 is way more expensive. A port to the Wii could actually make them a profit.

wait did you say no glitchs and lag.... i think we all know better then that.On top of that add up total instal base of both the ps3 and the 360 and your about 3 mil short of the wii, give or take.Just wanted to toss in some facts there.

lol wait ha i was still half asleep, lol next gen with no glitches ur right i was wrong bout that, big time, if anything with all this DLC bullcrap and patches devs make a half game first sell it as a full then sell the rest of it in pieces for additional cost, and patches well they just fix the bugs that shuda been fixed so devs can release bugged games sell it and finish it later or never.....

shrug and sales wise, ps3 games and 360 games sell way more than wii titles besides wiifit or wiiplay.

example COD's gta's etc, that is true

"shrug and sales wise, ps3 games and 360 games sell way more than wii titles besides wiifit or wiiplay. "

Did you factor in the actual price of production for HD games vs the Sd old?

For those HD game they will need to hit higher numbers to turn a profit, that's alot of talented people they have working on those game and they have bills to pay and mouths to feed :D

Beside the core gamers jump on new blockbuster games like a new big movie, but the wii might have a smaller core audience but they are there and they don't jump on the new games the same way, they are slow to pick up titles like me. Guess the numbers speak for them self and because a game sells 50k day one on wii doesn't mean it bomb.

Oh this is something I wanted to bring to the viewers on N4G.com

I have been doing a small research on HD sales and that idea going around why the 360 has more games sold per unit. and it appears that the fact because the social network is more connected you have more...um i don't want to say pressure but if a lot of your gaming buds have X & Y game and they are always playing it when you log on you see them in game you decide to jump on and get the game and join them.

It's very time consuming to check people game list and check their friend list and their friend game list etc but you get a clear idea. My brother was trying to do that to me, kept begging me to get X & Y game and we could play together and the cycle goes on, since my cousin has the ps3 and me and him play together at his house I see the same pattern but the social connection isn't as tight as the 360. I will explore the Sony side next but in all my interviews It seems like a good word of mouth selling point and it works. Nintendo doesn't have that and I think if you could see your friends online playing whatever game it would push others to get a game. This isn't a defining factor but it's one and I'm looking forward to digging deeper.

Me and my brother overkilled RE5 and we walked away with the thought... jeez RE4 was a better game. Co-op RE4.5 really, and if they tried to bring this to the wii they would have to sacrifice alot, if they cut the co-op then it would really kill the little game that it actually is.

I would get it as I am a huge RE fan.

50 million Wii owners compared to 52 million Ps3/360 owners combined, yeah your are right there. RE5 was made for the HD console from get because the producer originally wanted to use the sun in an innovated way regarding RE5. *look it up*

But unless devs make the games for both PS3/360 ala Capcom and Namco, those games will not make a significant profit. combined RE5 sold about 5 million on PS3/360.

Point I was making is that if 3rd parties actually promote their "M games" properly they will sell on the Wii. Ads for RE5 and other Mature PS3/360 games get alot of TV time. But you barely seen any ads for HoTd: Overkill and Madworld.

GH and Shaun White are great examples of 3rd party Wii games selling more than the PS3/360 counterparts. It can be done.

Omg_Armageddon there is never a laughing stock of the industry because there are so many that do even worst than even dead rising. Also res evil 4 keeps them from being as such, Many developers just don't have a good reason to even crack a smile let along laugh at capcom.

After all the capcom hate they are like the second coming of Christ right now. They can do no wrong yet many people forget that the hardcore have short memories because the turn over is that high. Many HD gamers this gen will graduate to some thing more high tech next gen and it may not be a console.

the MT framework can only be ported to nex gen system,

they will probably have to make it ground up for wii like dead rising

which was utter garbage compared to the amazing 360 version
