From what I heard, the new queue system sure did cause some long queues. The event sold out in mere minutes.

29 minutes to be exact. At least that was the time between their forum announcements of them being for sale and being sold out.

Sounds like the queue system worked well though. Not everyone who wanted tickets got them which would be impossible, but at least everyone didn't spend all day trying to buy tickets from a broken system.

The highest number I have heard people saw was about 24000, which is well over what I believe to be the total number of (10000-15000) tickets actually being sold.

the video game industry have already overthrown the movie industry. Who knows, maybe we do get to see 100K events for games in the future as well :P

Heh, yea it was. It caught me by surprise really. The event is bigger, they have some sort of queue system in place and the ticket price is $125 usd and it still sold in a flash.
