Will we ever see shenmue on a next gen console?

Cnet's Don Reisinger writes "Why Sega should revive the Shenmue series" I would like to see a follow up or content available for download on the PSN and XBL of the old Shenmue series.

1 - yakuza is like the new shenmue but
its not shenmue,the storys still unfinished please sega make a third,use blu ray and make the world gigantic :)

The thing that hurts me the most is the story that as yet to be told!

I wish they would release a graphic novel or somekind of Comic book with the rest of plot. HELL! Even a script would be nice! I have a theory that Ryo and Lan Di are brothers! ;) The bandage in Ryo face right beneath his eye and Lan Di´s scar in his face right beneath the eye ***wink***wink***!

Sadly since Sega has failed to act and the old Sega drove itself into the dirt and continues to shovel crapware out there, (anyone play the latest fake Wii-HOD or sonic games??)Sega is no longer a development powerhouse.

THe great AM teams have been forced into small low budget under funded projects.Some have moved onto other companies etc some Retired ,Yu Suzuki?? anyone?

The game itself -Shenmue- never evolved and the game Yakuza has since taken it's place..
Sadly ........the original games were revolutionary! (technologically and gameplay)!!, but were boring and many time childish in nature..Yakuza has since added more violence and style to the Genre.

RIP SHENMUE!!! I doubt if Yu Suzuki could cope with the sheer power of the PS3's Multicore Cell and RSX design,without the proper resources in hand..

If they could only make a shenmue with some RE5 and Yakuza elements it would be GODLY!!!
But since they failed to evolved the play mechanics ,they deserve to be where they are!!
And that is history!!

Yea I played Yakuza 2 I will get part 3 if its released in the US. Shenmue's story was deep though man it really grasped my attention as a gamer into Action/RPG games. I would even be excited to see Shenmue 1 and 2 released as downloadable content on PSN or XBL. Sega, PSN, and XBL could make a nice profit because I know theirs millions of shenmue fans out there that would download the content to play the game immediately if it was released.

Im with Scion on the DLC for Shenmue, I would pick that up INSTANTLY!

It seems people are more into some random Yakuza geezah running around smashing people up than they are about Ryo avenging his father...

I mean, honestly...pretty much everyone who played the first one spent several HOURS in an abandoned car park punching thin air to improve their spinning back fist at some point lol! How many other games have that kind of appeal, honestly!

Don't get me wrong, Yakuza 1+2 were decent games and 3 looks awesome, but again Sega are gonna shaft us with no release plans for the west.

I used to have so much respect for Sega, but to be honest when companies like Capcom and Konami constantly deliver the goodies how much longer can Sega honestly expect to stay afloat!

gamers now a days will not appreciate it at all. Be like me get the DC and xbox versions of Shenmue 1+2. Yu Suzuki will only do it if the time is right, or if the Wii was HD.

just want to get that out of the way

SEGA complete this game... Yakuza is cool.. but its roots as well as the roots from GTA3-4 come from shenmue 1 and 2...

i would gladly pay $200.00 for this game if it was to ever come out

i own all versions of shenmue 1 and 2 including the soundtracks

another game that you need to make is a remake or sequale to panzer dragoon saga...............

again i own 1-2-3 of panzer dragoon

the pal version of 3 was not cheap either.. sega.. see

your games kick ass and we all want more

I just feel we as gamers where left hanging with the series just ending and being dropped like that. I see download content released all the time of old school games I don't really care much for, and I don't think it would hurt Sega or cost them much work or money to allow the content of the game released on PSN and XBl. That's the least they could do for us Shenmue fans if they don't plan on following up with the series. Sparring with Fuksong in the Dojo practicing new learned moves was fun, and going to the arcade downtown. It was even fun going to work driving the forklift around lol. Panzer dragon was also a great game great series... also remember the game Knights? That game had amazing visuals on Sega Saturn.
