You've got to love Resistance 2's LAARK. You can decimate multiple foes swarming an objective with the alternate fire.

Edit: although I kinda hate mentioning LAARK with people below crying over it not being on the list.

As cool as the LAARK is, multiple small drunk missiles are nothing new. Play Rise of the Triad =)

Nothing revolutionary, but still a sweet gun. There's too many cool rocket launchers to just choose 5.

The Laark please...........It is nothing new, its a noob launcher is what it is. And it isn't something you can use all the time, you can only get it through adrenaline in only online play.

the laark in rfom was 100 times better than in R2. You could stop it in midair and then fire the mini homing rockets as well as being able to guide it. why oh why did they have to change it???

fudge the UT3 one, give me the UT one - 6 rockets spread/spiral or nades.

Takes about 10 seconds to load though and you can hear it for miles, still there's eomthing gratifying about a 6-rocket lockon & kill that takes out the flag carrier & all his support.

thats in the online in the Resistance2, in Resistance 1 you can just pick it up.
They did that so people wouldnt call it the "noob" gun and that they would actually have to earn the points to be able to use it. And wouldnt just run around with it killing person after person, like a noob gun.

And anyway, no1 said these were online-only weapons !

The Halo rocket launcher is "nothing special" either though. It just shoots rockets. The LAARK at least does something different. I don't really see it as a weapon deserving of the top 5 rocket launchers though, and Halo is basically just mentioned due to its popularity. I only give GTA a pass because of the physics in the game. Having a rocket bounce off a windshield is pretty f-ing cool.

Red Faction should be on here. The BFG (I believe it was called that) would decimate a huge area. I remember playing multiplayer on the map Warlords, and that gun would pretty much kill everything on half the level.

Edit: Actually, reading the rest of the comments made me remember the stop action of the LAARK in Resistance 1. That weapon I could see being on the list. The one in Resistance 2 I didn't particularly see as an award winner.

So i thought id just give some reasons why the Laark does have some innovation to it and some reasons why the other rocket launchers mentioned dont.

But no that makes me a big fanboy by saying a rocket launcher on 1 system has better features than a rocket launcher on another.

just thought id tag another example of people turning this into a fanboy thing for some users wanting a weapon they think is good on a list.

Get over it, you should look at the game itself, just because its on another system doesnt mean everything on it is automatically bad.

I have played with the rocket launcher on Halo-alot ! and i really like, but as i said the Laark just has more features that make it more unique (in my opnion). Thats all. Im done..

Man you seem awful caught up with the Laark, maybe you shouldn't knock games until you try them. The physics with weapons in halo3 is second none in any game. If you have played it for any period you would realize this. But maybe someday when you get the glasses off. We know this site is 85% ps3 fanboys which is fine but it automatically puts you into the negative when you disagree with them.

Like people have said before, it is just a simple weapon but the way Halo is designed makes it special. If you shoot the rocket in mid-air with a sniper it will explode. If you stick it with a grenade it will explode. I've actually done the following which is throw a grenade under it and when the grenade explodes it launches the rocket in a different direction. If you have a gravity hammer you can hit the rocket in a different direction. Halo's rocket launcher is amazing because it is simple and isn't always an instant kill.
