2 - Well this article sucks.
I wish folks would read the article then post but that's asking for so much since it seems most hd gamers on N4g are barely literate. Anyhow. It's like this author wrote this article in 2006. He doesn't even seem to try to bring up more recent games that used motion controls well. Like wariowarez: smooth moves, No More Heroes, COD: WaW, MarioKart Wii these all made great use of motion controls and had great gameplay. This is a terrible article it may have a positive ending but it's like this was written by someone who does not play games on the wii but rather went from hearsay.

Gee, I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that of the seven games cherry-picked, four were Sports games.

Look, I can draw silly conclusions based on biased samples like that too. 'House of the Dead 2/3, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad, Target Terror -- even from just four games, some of you at least should see that rail shooters are dominating the Wii.'

"What shocked me, was Super Smash Bros. Brawl, designed for the Wii and the Wii alone, there was no use whatsoever of motion control."

Unless you chose the option of 'not plugging in a Gamecube controller'.

"Not even to wave that little hand cursor thing about on menus. Nothing."

Also Lucas-art was pissed because they heard the late news( but their games were near complition anyway).

7 - I have to admit it
I use to be very critical of ninendo and use to bash the wii big time and i said I would never like such a thing.. Well my fiance bought the wii a couple nights ago along with Wii fit and i must say, im hooked on Wii sports. Bowling and tennis are very fun and addiciting and boxing and baseball is really fun also. I am now a wii believer after trying it out for myself and plan on getting a lot of games for it.

Im not a golf fan at all but after trying out wii golf on wii sports i am now going to buy tiger woods 09 for the wii, im also going to get Mario galaxy, super paper mario, Zelda, Metroid, Skate it and shaun white snowboarding.. Since we have the wii balance board shaun white snowboarding should be a blast.. I heard its very fun

Yep hell has frozen over because i admit i was wrong big time, the Wii is really really fun and im enjoying it a lot so far.. dare i say, i might even be enjoying it a bit more than my PS3 and 360..

Congrats first of all for having a girlfriend, that is something only a small percentage of these savages can honestly claim... congrats also on your recent acquisition...

The general response from people who have played the Wii for more than 10 minutes is overwhelmingly positive. Even more so for people who make informed software choices...

Let me know if you are on the fence about any particular games... If its worth having, I've probably played it...

Get ready for the wave of quality Wii titles this year and enjoy, but be warned... you will be mocked by all of your tough guy friends.

8 - The Wii is a dumb down machine for non-gamers.
They deserve to have some fun too. So let it be. There are plenty of games for casual and hardcore gamers on the other two platforms.

If the PS3 or 360 had wii type of controls, for instance like a wii zapper to be used for games like Killzone, Gears and Halo.. THAT WOULD BE PURE GAMING BLISS.. I love the motion controls for the Wii and if you could mix PS3/360s hardcore, graphics driven games with the wii motion controls, it would be unstopable!

That's something I don't get. Sony and MS have had almost 2.5 years to create motion controls for people who like that stuff (personally I don't. Its too impercise for me). Instead they both sit around bickering with each other about who has more of the scraps the Wii left behind. Make a damn motion controller, pack it with a sports demo (which is all Wii sports really is) and slap it on the retail shelf. How hard is that?

Traditional games, and gameplay unrivaled by its opponents when developers actually try and put some effort into their games. The Wii is my console of choice this time around, 'cause my Alienware PC can run those cheap man's PC ports on the PS3 and 360 a lot better. What is PS3 good for? Internet browsing for porn and blu-ray for more porn. weak. 360? overcharging those fool enough to pay for xbox live and pay for meaningless microtransactions. microtransactions is why i din't DL that Final Fantasy wiiware game, give me the whole game, not bits and pieces.
