Shenmue fans plan mass mailing to SEGA

MySpace fans of the game plan to mass mail SEGA of Japan Toy Capsule like the kind players collected in the game through Dec. 29 in hopes of getting SEGA to at least comment on Shenmue III.

Right now would be the perfect time to release a Shenmue title, cause they could make it a multiplat game, and increase their potential sales target! They could probably get it to work on the Wii as well.

When the Dreamcast went down, their main priority should have been to make all their games multiplat, so they could get the maximum return for their efforts. But I guess that would have been too much like doing the right thing...

I have a question:
i've never played Shenmue but understand why ppl would like a third.

But being made from SEGA, is Yakuza not the spiritual shenmue successor?

Cause if so, then surely Yakuza 3 will be worth the wait if Shenmue 3 never comes?

I hear wat your saying sinncross but the problem is Shenmue II was left with a cliffhanger ending that many like me have played over & over now for 7 years so we want a conclusion. Shenmue is a game that you either love or hate, i love it there simply nothing else like it even Yakuza just doesnt match up.

I have posted this story over on the ShenmueDojo i beg all Shenmue fans to spread the word.

that cliff hanger ending was just... i dunno... the fact that Lan Di only showed up ONCE after Ryo beat up on that big guy (can't remember his name)... i need closure... i need to know what happens with both mirrors.. I need to fight Lan Di.... it needs to be finished like SERIOUSLY.... hell I'll even take a graphic novel or something.

The ending i am talking about was in the cave in Guilin when suddenly everything went kind of magic/fantasy and Ryo & Shenhua could cearly see that everything was predestined.

I bought my Xbox just for Shenmue III. Also bought my 360 partly cause I'd heard rumors that Shenmue III was coming out for it.

If they are going to make Shenmue III it needs to have a big big budget and of course Yu Suzuki as director/producer. If not I'll pass.

and guess what I don't care cuz it's shenmue baby!

Sega needs to make shenmue 3 quick fast in a hurry, and I'll say it before anyone else it does not need to be exclusive to any 1 platform because sega fanboys split between the xbox and playstation brands after the commercial death of the DC and we all being former Sega fanboys needs to experience this game regardless of recent console prefrence. They should relese Shenmue 1 and 2 on PSN and Xbox live. I feel that if Shenmue 2 was on PS2 than game would have sold a lot more than on xbox and we would be already playing Shenmue 3.

I loved playing shenmue. It was one of my decisions in buying an xbox 360...after that traitor left of course. So i could get shenmue 2 and play it. Lets hope this helps get shenmue 3 commented on.

they don't 'finish the job' ... they don't 'deliver the goods' .. if you plan such an ambitious trilogy of games, you make sure you complete the job. just imagine lord of the rings 1 and 2.. but no 3. it would be criminal.

its criminal and a disservice to all segas customers that they didn't finish what they started. i won't forgive them until i see shenmue 3.

I even go back to my Dreamcast at least once a year to play Shenmue and also to my Xbox for Shenmue 2. I really hope they finish the trilogy. It is a great one, also a remembering one. I still remember "Do you wanna play soccer." lol

22 - Only 16 Chapters To Go To Complete The ShenMue Saga
Porting 1 and 2 on the Wii is a good start. The engine has got to be cheap by now (for the sequels)...all the work is done (for 1&2), all that needs to be implemented are the Wii Controls.

Everyone seems to assume that it would continue its trek on the 360. Personally with the likes of Valkyria Chronicles I could see it being PS3 exclusive but for good reason. If there is one thing about Shenmue its that fact that the game has always surpassed everything in its time. The one for the dream cast was one of a kind. An I think if Sega truly wanted to bring that same level of an update to shenmue 3 that they would bring it to the Playstation 3. Though with what could happen the likes of a quad layered blue ray disc with the likes of 100 gigs of space even it might not be able to hold all of shenmue if the updates are as significant as the first one.
