Top Ten Games of 2001

2001 saw many things. In May, Sega halted all production on their Dreamcast console. That November, Nintendo and Microsoft began their fight for second place as the Xbox and GameCube were released on back-to-back days.

Halo, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Phantasy Star Online were only a few of the games that were released in 2001, a year that saw a system seller, a revolutionary open-world experience and a game that transcended what it was to become a piece of modern art.

Continuing their weekly countdown to their top ten games of 2008 list, Binge Gamer lists off the ten best games of 2001.
