I-Cocoon: The Next Wii?

The Interactive Cocoon uses 3D motion-tracking and a fully immersive 360-degree LED display and is actually designed with videogames in mind, say the device's manufacturers. DailyGame explores in this article whether Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are taking notes for their next generation of console interfaces.

The only real use for this would be shooters. Platformers would be exceedingly difficult, and would lack any physical contact (hanging from ledges, hitting walls, etc). Sure you can jump up and down, but a game like Mirror's Edge would be impossible. You'd basically be playing Super Mario Bros in a million dollar machine. Racing wouldn't really be feasible either (unless they enclosed you in a car like structure, which would basically make this an overpriced arcade machine with peripheral vision).

That being said, this would make an awesome training simulator. I don't see it ever becoming a viable option for home gaming. Maybe in 50 years arcades will be able to afford them.

how the hell is that even going to get throug the door theres no way i can carry this to an apartment 3 freaking floors lol let alone get through the first door of the apartment for that matter.

one problem though
what about multilplayer thats the only thing this is lacking

it would make sense if it was a put together kind of machine then i could fit some big parts through the door in a certain angle.

most of all why not jus tmake a helmet lay down on the floor or bed and let your mind be in the game that way your thinking your actaually in the game holding the gun almost reality

games never become like that. this is my opinion obviously though so talk amongst yourselves.

though this would be fine for an arcade, it would certainly bring back that semi-dieing business.
