If I recall correctly, they [ninja theory] are working on a multi-platform game right now that hasn't been announced, and they don't have a large enough team to work on 2 titles simultaneously.

However if sony renews a contract with them to make the next IP (remember sony owns the HS ip, like MS owns the gears/halo/pgr IP's) they'll likely work on it.

Me too, I'd really like it if Heavenly Sword 2 was in production even if it wasn't from the Ninjas. I loved the first one, and a sequal has a lot of potential to be awesome.

HS did not get anywhere NEAR the amount of credit that it deserved!

There was so much emotion in the characters. GREAT design. Animation was a little flaky at parts, but it hardly detracted from the overall experience of the game. And the closeups were just INCREDIBLE. The combat mechanics were deeper than yuo'd expect.

Pleeease let tehre be a sequel

Heavenly Sword was great. It's just too short for that kind of story, and almost zero replay value. It's one of those games you'll play once. Then maybe in a year just play it once more.

One more thing is that they should really just make the combat more like God of War. Sure it's a rip-off, but ripping off God of War correctly would just be awesome.

So I wouldnt count out not seeing a sequal since the first did sell a million copies. I totally agree with alot of u that it would be great to see a sequal. The first was great and a sequal would be even better especially if they add trophies, hell yeah baby bring it on. :)

Im salivating for WKC. If Sony were smart, they'd buy Level 5 already. They've proven they're incredible RPG developers (their worst on PS2 was Rogue Galaxy, and that was still a great game), and having an in-house studio would prove a major boon.

Though 2008 is looking OKAY here in NA for RPGs, what with Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles exclusive and Eternal Sonata's improved PS3 debut, in Japan Sony is dead in the water with RPGs and Microsoft just got a huge boost from Tales.

It's time Sony started to get going with WKC. Supposedly, it's due before March 31, 2009 in Japan. I want that game like many others here in NA and the sooner it's out in Japan the sooner it's out here which is obviously all for the better.

I wouldn't be surprised with FFXIII going Multi, Last Remnant timed-exclusive to 360 and Tales success if Sony asked Level 5 to hurry up a little with this sure-fire AAA JRPG.

links to prove any of your theories? who says no game play? thats the usual order of things, announce a game, show the game, beta the game, release the game, enjoy the game. gow3 will definitely be there, with a release of march they have some type of footage, mag may not have game play but will have at least more info, hs was a huge success aside from the fact that it was a short game, so hs2 is bound why not announce it/show it and help dominate the show- and who says nt cant work on multiple titles?!?! i mean its not the size of ea but its got a good team that can handle more than one task.

If the above games dont get you excited. Do yourself a favor and sell your PS3 (begging). This is a european event. its a show for SCEE. TGS and ICO are for other day. Its also already been confirmed by BBC editor that Heavy Rain was not the game he was refering to. Even though people who had sneak preview at E3 of Heavy rain said it was if not the best or one of the best games at E3

Shane Kim, I am not saying Microsoft or Nintendo has anything better at all. Rather I'm saying the whole industry is in a dry rut and has been for awhile now. Everything is geared for the pick up and play guys and it's getting old.

I wish Sony announces more than follow ups to their established games is what I am saying.

Personally i'm quietly impressed with Sony atm.

Little Big Planet is doing things no other ip is. MAG is an attempt to push multiplayer into areas it hasn't been before on consoles. Heavy Rain - extraplotating a lot from Fahrenheit and brief tidbits, granted - looks like bringing something more solidly adult and sophisticated to consoles. Ratchet and Clank is a move into a kind of larger file size downloadable episodic content which i haven't really seen done this way on next gen consoles.

Add on whatever fruits come of their NCSoft partnership, plus DC Online, plus hopefully Home finally coming closer to reality, and Team Ico stuff... And anything unknown (of which you could hypothosize a lot)

Then you put in their 'established' franchises, and what does that really mean? In two cases first sequels to first gen titles - which were at that point new - and look vastly different to their originals (i'm thinking Motorstorm 2 and Resistance 2), and in a couple of others extensions of succesful ips that haven't been used at all in next gen techhnology.

Imo Sony would probably be the one console company - aside from Nintendo's wiifit etc type expansions - which broadly is attempting some new things.. It's not massively groundbreaking (excepting perhaps LittleBigPlanet at this point - with Home/Heavy Rain and Team Ico's likely candidates), but at least it's 'something'. An effort.

I'd always like more, but imo, on what i've seen/heard Sony is the least deserving of scorn. Particularly when you add as well that they're not going to show all their hand one or two years ahead of time. They've gotta have something of next years to show off next year.

But that's no reason to assume another game wasn't in pre-production and early development during Uncharted.
For example, ND released a Crash game every year from '2, the same with the Jak series, since ND is bigger now, I see no reason why they can't change pattern and work on two games at once.
It has been proved that Uncharted ('BIG') was being worked on when JakX nearing the end of development, probably mainly because of the new engine and architecture of the PS3 compared to the PS2.
Besides, why the trademark of 'Lost Frontier' and the teasing of using the Uncharted engine for Jak and 'coming back to it'?
I really don't see Uncharted coming out next year, its too soon and I'd prefer it not to be rushed and I think Ratchet needs an friendly rival again, like old times.
Also it makes sense why there's a few avatars of J&D on the PS3 for PSN and almost every other avatar having a game/series playable on the PS3.
