I really can't wait for this game, the first was only bettered my hl2 when it came out but now I prefer far cry to hl2.

WOW. I didn't upgrade my pc for Crysis... but I'm going to have to now. And I'll probably pick up FarCry, Crysis, The Witcher, and Diablo III when I do so... very good times for PC gamers.

Obviously, the PC version will be better, but the console versions should be able to hold their own. The console versions will have some frame rate hitches here and there, but they should be playable and look pretty nice.

Which is why I always invest in my PC, I don't want to play games at "medium" settings. Thanks to the PC I don't have too but with a console I would be FORCED too.

^^not sure where you read that...'medium' settings on this game would look like junk compared to what this video is shown in...

Even Crytek said, with the right tools, CryEngine 2.0 could achieve 'high' (just under whatever the max setting is, I forget) at 720p and 30fps with 2xAA on consoles give or take...

Also, Far Cry 2's dev team went into detail about what actually gets decreased for the consoles in a game like this...and its mostly just resolution (and the ability to use slightly less complex textures because of it)...stating that all the physics, effects, and animation where easily achieved on the consoles (well the PS3 at least, this interview was conducted by ThreeSpeach back in February I think, so it had nothing to do with the 360)...if you set a goal of 720p and 30fps...the consoles are still pretty powerful...and being that 720p is generally accepted because of most TV resolutions anyway...it doesn't really matter...

I know someone who added a lot of moneys worth of hardware for Crysis.
He still had to play it at medium.

So unless you have a you have a $3000 PC you will probably have to do the same.
I saw Crysis running on a $2000 game PC at a game shop. It was a joke, and it didn't look anywhere as good as the videos or good games on consoles.

Just remember a great graphics card may not be enough. You have to go for the best there is.

6 - I am so psyched for this game.

I can no longer contain my excited for this game. I have been trying not to get hyped but I failed. I can't wait to play this game!

Too many games to buy and not enough time or money.

Not to mention my friend may be selling me his xbox 360. Maybe I'll hold off on that for now.

10 - Its unfortunate...

...the the console versions will be the poorer cousins of the (high-spec) PC version. I will still get this game for the PS3 if:

a. The visuals are still top notch in terms of a console game.
b. There is no screen tearing.
c. And its fun as hell to play.

Judging by the gaming press the 360 version is like a pc on medium to high settings, Ps3 is too although PSM magazine said the Ps3 version was a bit muddy and worst of the bunch.... there words not mine.
