HDMI is a technology, not an online service. Nobody 'stole' it from anyone.

What I'm saying is that their PS3 Online 'Gamer Cards' are a blatant rip of Xbox 360's Gamer cards.

HD-DVD is not a 'copy' of blu-ray. They were competing technologies - both invented by not Sony or MS but Toshiba.

What 360 avatars are you talking about? MS has no plans whatsoever to 'copy' PS3's 'Home'.

Like I care, just benefits me as a consumer. Sony can evaluate XBOX Live's good/bad aspects and make improvements for the worse or better, like wise can be said for Microsoft as they are now preparing to penetrate Nintendo's market. This could help Microsoft to expand the 360's appeal, thus opening doors for diverse IPs.

Companies so called "copy" from one another, but instead of looking at it as a negative thing, look at it from a positive perspective as it drives competition and benefits us, the consumers.

Microsoft came out with an add on just so they can keep the format war going and to show that it is possible to have a HD disc drive on the 360, they did this 2 months after the PS3 launched, pretty funny no?

They all do it however so not that big of a deal.

@3.6: Not really. You have a gamertag which is basically your name on Live. Then you have your gamercard which can be seen from the 360 dashboard or via the Xbox.com website, etc.

Too little too late? Yeah maybe if the PS3 was as old as the 360. The PS3 is fairly new still and when the 2.4 features come out, it will all be forgotten in months time and only remembered as if it came out at launch.

I wonder what the next excuse from the 360 fans will be once this firmware releases. Copying? Ha! What's wrong with that? Then when Home comes out?

The PS3 covered everything in the hardware department. It's now playing catch up in the software dept. Remember software can adapt, hardware can't and this console will bound to get best of both worlds.

Actually, Toshiba didn't have anything to do with Blu Ray's creation.

They CO-created the CELL chip for pc's and the ps3 with Sony. They had nothing to do with Blu-ray creation

was big before the 360 was around. The PSN is relatively new. I understand that this stuff was a little slow out of the gate but, 1.75 years to get a free service up to scratch with a paid service that took years to get to where it is, isn't bad.

IMO, they should have had all these PSN 'improvements' ready to go when the PS3 launched. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, Video market place to rent and buy HD movies. MS has done a lot of things right, no doubt about it. Sony is learning a lesson, but it's a lot easier to upgrade Firmware, than it is to add an HDMI port or Blu-Ray drive. Sony's forsight was amazing. They spent the money on the firmware development later. It's good business.
