VG247 interview: Phil Harrison on life after Sony and Alone in the Dark

VG247: Atari rolled out the red carpet in London last week for its pre-launch showing of Alone in the Dark, flying in a tired-looking Phil Harrison from New York to intro the game and give a few interviews. Talking to the big man is always a pleasure, and this time especially so, given his recent move from SCEE where he'd been ensconced for the past 15 years.

Harrison was in the UK to talk about the Eden action-adventure, but did answer a few questions on what it's been like to join ex-EA boss David Gardner at Atari, the future of the firm in general, affirmation of his belief that unconnected single-players games are tomorrow's dodos, and how he's been busy making a bunch of new friends.

To be honest. I miss this shiny baldy as the ps3 rep.

His mannerisms when he speaks are so pleasant! (My impression from this excerpt)

He seems like a level headed and diplomatic fellow.

I bet it would be really good to talk to him in person. I reckon he'd be a nice bloke.

he is cool but really tall and really skinny. It's some what intimidating standing next to the fellow. Phil had to slightly bend his knees to be on eye level with me just to take a pic.

2.1 - Yeah phil wasnt a bad guy at all...
and certainly didnt talk as much crap as greenberg and shane kim. Kind of miss the guy but hey sometimes u wanna move on and do what your passion is, and it seems like he is enjoying it alot at atari, and im glad to see that he is happy and found his new home.

Hopefully Alone in the Dark does well....the game is showing the signs of being a technical and atmospheric masterpiece, especially with the lighting engine and the inventory system.
