Even though Gears of War 2 was getting slammed for its weak graphics, it was the amazingly dull gameplay and AI that were the most disappointing. What the hell was Epic thinking showing a level that takes place completely on a rail with stuff just dumbly coming at you to shoot?

So far all Epic has show is a minor upgrade to their dated Unreal Engine with Duck Hunt type point and shoot gameplay and AI.

Well, all I can say is Gears of War 1 is my most played multiplayer game & I have a Ps3 too. I have Halo 3, COD4, Warhawk, Resistence, GTA IV, ect ect. Gears is the *only* MP game that me & my friends come back to again & again & again.

I guess that's why it swept so many GOTY & other awards. I guess that's why it sold 2 million copies in it's first 6 weeks even being a new IP. I guess that's why it was the graphical bechmark for both consoles for so long. I think the sequel is going to be great & I don't care what all the Sony "fans" say that literally drown all the Gears articles with negative remarks.

Gears of War 2 is coming, & it's going to be a great game embraced by awhole lotta gamers & probably even a contendor for GOTY, whether you like it or not. Those of you who chose not to play this game because it's on the "dreaded xbox 360" are the biggest losers this generation of video games & you truly dont know what you are missing. Btw, this also goes for the PS3 haters.

You want to win the console war ? Just go buy a 360 & a PS3 & YOU WIN.

Well Bill, it actually depends on the gameplay and in relation to GOW2 I dont't really see any problems with 10 players. I couldn't imagine GOW2 with more than 30 players because it doesn't really suit the gameplay opposed to other titles.

Tactical? Excuse me, tactical is MGO 8 vs 8, tactical is socom, 15 vs 15, 12 vs 12, 8 vs 8, 4 vs 4, 2 vs 2, and 1 vs 1.

It's a style of game play the PS3 already has.

Assuming that a type of gameplay cannot exist on another console is just plain ignorance. You cannot prove that because a type of gameplay exists on one console, it cannot exist on another console.

And Resistance 2's 60 man multiplayer will not be like playing people who are all bots. The general understanding of what 'Bots' are, is 1) an artificial intelligence governing a virtual opposition, 2) an xbot. However, the bots found in Resistance 2 will be neither, as the virtual opposition being governed on either side of a Resistance battle will not be artificial intelligence, but the ultimate level of complex thinking, which is human intelligence.

Like one of the users on this forum quoted.

When Gears came out it was like watching a football game and the only guy on the field was a running back named Gears of War. No Defense, nothing. There were no other games that fall to speak of, not even on the 360. It made Gears look better than it was.

Well this year it is different. There are linebackers on the field that eat running backs for breakfast. And those linebackers are GTA4, MGS4, Little Big Planet, and Resistance 2. And not to mention all the other big games coming out on other systems.

and resistance 2 wont touch gears, MGS4 and GTA IV are the only big hitters sony has.

they need to fix is they need a new hit detection system in the multiplayer.

that is the only blemish in the original gears to me. the multiplayer was ruined by no matchmaking, lag, host advantage, and wtf is i pull the trigger and then the bullets fly out 3 seconds later!

CMON EPIC you guys made UT, dont screw up the online, if they get the online right with a better campaign than the original, Gears 2 will pwn!

the 4vs4 multiplayer matches were insanely addictive for me and my buds....5vs5 will be even more SUH-weeeet!

On a side note, I like the fact that Cliffy listens to "Gears fans" because it looks like they are fixing/adding some of the MOST common complaints/requests, BUT at the same time I'm glad to see that Cliffy is relying on his OWN CREATIVITY to make Gears2 bigger and more badass. I mean when you think about it at the end of the day a dev has to just make the kind of Game that he thinks millions of people will enjoy. I'm sure it gets old listening to every Joe who's got an idea about how the game you are working hard on could be better, 'cause I sure as hell do.
