The Rarest and Most Valuable Playstation (PS1) Games

Even though the original Playstation is one of the most common consoles of all time, there are many valuable PS1 treasures to be found. Its diverse library is filled with RPGs and unique gems that collectors long for. Out of all of the consoles we have covered in the Rare & Valuable series so far, the PS1 has both the most expensive regular issue game and the highest average selling price. This occurrence can can probably be attributed to the PS2 and PS3's backwards compatibility and its wide range of cult favorites that remain as exclusives for the PS1.

Lol, my friend brought that round and we played it on the PS3 not long ago. Listnening to the Scottish guys' taunt is hilarious, even if they're not really an accurate representation of Scottish. Still, funny as hell :D

I had copies Valkyrie Profile, FF7, Tactics Ogre, Suikoden 2 and Lunar:SSSC. I made a killing off them. Good thing playstation games work on emulator now!

I've seen sealed black label FFVII's go for far less than $400 on eBay. The one I think they might be referring to was a pack of 7 sealed black label FFVII's, which sold for a few hundred.

Out of this list, I only had FFVII and Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. Sold Lunar long ago, but I still have FFVII.

I'm suprised how many of the games I have on that list.

Suikoden 2
FFVII (black and greatest hits; bought my brother GH when I went to college; but took it back when he didn't use PS anymore)
Ogre Battle
Castlevania
Xenogears
Marvel vs. Capcom
Valkyrie Profile

I'm also suprised that Final Fantasy Tactics black label isn't on there. I remember looking for a couple years back because the case on mine got snapped and I wanted to have one in good condition. Needless to say the orignal not greatest hits one was no where to be found and pricey on eBay.

yea thats tru final fantasy tactics was mad rare with the black label... then they re-released it for greatest hits and thats when i got it...

i got Tactics Ogre ... the game is completely amazing ... and anyone a fan of strategy games I highly recommend it .. although the price... thats ur decision what u pay lol

I'm surprised thats listed as rare.

I have it, but I've also got a copy of "CastleVania Chronicles" for PSone, and Chronicles is alot harder to find.

I have Bust A Groove 2. Cool game. It actually uses the dance mat as an optional controller. It's also much more open to improvisation than DDR too.

I played both MDK and MDK2. One on the PS and the other on the DC and both were great IMHO. I did like the first one best however.

TEAM BUDDIES! i only had the demo which i got on my first ps magazine. but that game was so fun! i never could find the actual game. and i gave away persona 3! i got it from my aunt for free and i never knew it was worth anything! Shooooot!
