KOTOR 3 confirmed?

The past 24 hours have been dominated by announcements from EA about its preparations to release Mass Effect on the PC, Spore on September 7, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, and a Burnout sequel. The aforementioned presentation by EA's CEO also revealed that one of the mystery projects of recently acquired Pandemic Studios is a new game based on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films.

Riccitiello's presentation also appeared to reveal a new game from Pandemic's former corporate twin, BioWare Inc. The same slide as the LOTR revelation had the Canadian studio's development lineup listed as "Mass Effect, Dragon Age, KOTOR, [and a] New MMO."

i love KOTOR and STAR WARS the only thing that could be better than this would have to be battlefront 3 with huge levels stretching into space.

Nothing can be better than kotor. Battlefront is no doubt fun, but kotor is an experience of epic proportions.

3 - A new hope
While I enjoyed Mass Effect, I often had thoughts while playing it that I wished I was playing a new KOTOR instead. I was afraid that they would use Mass Effect to completely replace KOTOR (less licensing, more profits) but if they can pursue both franchises, then it's even better.

If BioWare are definitely working on KOTOR3 then fantastic. KOTOR is better than Mass Effect in my opinion. It looks like they have a lot going on right now!!

I wonder if we'll get it before late 2009 or 2010!

Mass effect will be better as it goes, but it has zero history in its story because it about humans foraying into new territory. Whereas the kotor has tons of backstory and past to it, which with all the talk of ancient jedi and such. I just hope the combat is no longer turn based, and slightly faster paced than mass effect. I imagine all the rpg elements of kotor 1 and 2 mixed with fast paced awesome lightsaber combat would be pure awesome.

Keep the battle system the same, but get some decent writers. KOTOR2's story was terrible, yet I played it 4 times start to finish because the battle system is awesome, being able to 'find' Jedi and train them is better than awesome (esp for the dark side IMO), force powers and the 'super' force powers were awesome, and who doesn't like to just kill 20 some guys w/ a lightsaber alone? If they can upgrade the graphics, get rid of the glitches, and create a decent story this could EASILY get GOTY. This franchise and the Halo franchise were the reasons I got my 360, so I'd be disappointed if it didn't come out soon.

6 - All i wish is they make a complete storyline this time arund...
Kotor 2 was

A) filled with bugs
B) Incomplete in storyline (the robot assasins werent explored along with several other plots)
C) Really unbalanced when you get to a high level jedi you just arrived, casted the speed thingy and everyone was dead on your first strike. (Kotor 1 as well except the final fight)

So here is hoping for a harder similar to kotor1 experience.

Can't wait to play the third one. I hope they make Jade Empire 2. The first game was sweet for the Xbox.
