Agree, the one for the gameCube was great Star Wars fun. I can still remember the TV ad, was as exciting as the Kill Switch TV ad.

8 - Truth Be Told
im not gonna hold the company accountable for Lair.. That was their 1st motion control game.. on a HORRIBLE motion controler.. Tacked on Controls get a tacked on grade..

They should have NEVER gone to sony in the first place with a motion control flying game.. LAIR would have been GREAT on Wii..

10.1 - A little research would
do you good. Lair was made by Factor 5 with the money Sony gave them. Sony was the publisher. They can't make it mulitplatform.

I actually enjoyed playing Lair, its the first game on the PS3 ive bothered to buy, the rest ive rented. (Ive only owned my PS3 for a month )

But then maybe its because i didnt try to fly my Dragon like an F18 Hornet?

14 - Sweet I never knew they were behind " Rogue Squadron "
is that the same game for the "Gamecube"? Loved that game, especially the final DeathStar mission, flying through them tight spaces.

Man..here I was thinking "Lair and there claim to fame."

That Rogue Squadron game was Quality.

i dont know about you guys, but i was kinda hoping for a sequel to Lair- because Lair was a flawed classic IMO, if they could make a sequel thatg ironed out the flaws then it would be an excellent game

but if the next game is multi-platform then i guess that isn't going to happen for quite some time

17 - Lair was a good game but arrived at the wrong time...
Had Factor 5 released a game like Lair in two-three years time, when not just hardcore gamers would have owned a PS3, the game would have been a success.

As it is, it's a good game but with controls people used to having analog sticks in their hands 24 hours a day are not willing to adjust to. Anyone who actually played the game will attest that it plays well and the motion controls add to the game experience. I applaud Factor 5 for this high risk approah. We need more of this instead of the HD rehashes that flood 360 and PS3.

If I was a developer of games I would go multi-plat too benefit from 360's high attach rate. that are worth it are virtually guaranteed to sell.

What the F is up with these every five second drop down advertisement N4G? It is getting too stupid.

23 - what Factor 5 needs to do
is release a patch supporting analog controls for Lair.

everything else about that god-damned game screams quality (the graphics are incredible, the story is well done and well acted, and the missions are fun and varied, considering that you are riding on a dragon the entire game), but those frigging controls just *KILL it.

i've mastered the motion controls, but i'd have preferred analog support. if they did this little thing, Lair would easily catapult up to a 8/10 game. instead, they had to be stubborn, and now their game is not only a martyr, but a cautionary tale about *CHOICE. the gamer should always have the *CHOICE to use features that are untested.

remember when analog sticks were introduced? to ease the transition, developers supported digital pad controls along *WITH the analog controls. outside of Ape Escape on the PS1, i used the digital pad to control games up until the PS2 hit, and more games made it the required form of control. now i can't control a game *WITHOUT the analog stick (i'm exaggerating, but, you know).

other games have done motion controls in *LITTLE, but effective ways (Heavenly Sword let you control projectiles with the motion controls, Ratchet uses it in a *LOT of little ways, like decrypting doors, hang-gliding, and free-falling; Uncharted lets you use motion controls to balance on beams, and control the arc of a grenade. you can also tilt the controller back to leap backwards from edges while hanging).

anyway, it'll be interesting to see what they're cooking up next, but Factor 5 is kind of the epitome of "developer with spotty track record." they're talented guys, but they can certainly be misguided sometimes.
