The first new Street Fighter game in about a decade was announced today, and now Destructoid have a trailer straight from Capcom and GameVideos, as promised.

Honestly they will probably wait til after Christmas to see how well PS3 sales do. Then make an announcement. So far they said in developement for PS3 but haven't ruled anything out. It will probably be multi plat though.

agreed. I think capcom wants to do it ps3 only since the controller really is better for fighting games, but capcom has had success on the 360 and they are aware of sony's smaller base. However I imagine if the price cut and bigger games come out and if ps3 sells go up, and lost planet sells really well, they will most likely make it timed ps3 only. So you hear that ps3 fans? if you want it only on the ps3 you better buy lost planet, even if its above average game!!!! lol

Trailer is very reminscent of the streetfighter 2 anime. What are we gonna get to play with though? 2D? 3D? Psuedo 3D? 3D sprites on a 2d plane cell shaded... TOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!!!

I'm sure I'm not the only gamer on this post that remembers the good ol' days where you go to your corner store and waste (I use the term "waste" loosely) coin after coin playing SF2 in the arcade. I love the Street Fighter Franchise. Always have always will. I however Pray this won't be a 3D fighter. Leave it 2D, bring Cammy back :P, keep Gouki (Akuma), and I'm a happy gamer.

For Spinoffs like EX it is OK. SF EX was actually made by ARIKA though, not Capcom.

I think if SF4 went to 3D most, if not all, SF fans would be disappointed. Nice trailer though. I hope they bring Zangief back for 4.

Of all the character i loved in the SF series Dan was the most pathetic with his half ass fireball. Man this trailer looks sweet. I cant wait to pwn all of you on the psn the day this is available. ...although the SF franchise is the holy grail of 2D fighting games, I have to slightly side with you on this one. Fighting games have become stale over the years will little new being added except additional polygons and backdrops. One thing that would freshen this game (or any game in this genre) would be a proper damage modeling and environmental system that required you to change your fighting style through a given round. That is, have your rib broken and it would limit certain upper body movements and effect breathing. Have your knee smashed and you have to stagger to keep your balance, etc.

I also want to see proper environments that effect the way you fight. For instance, if it rains or you fight in water then your clothes become soaked and slow you down. Get knocked into the crowd and watch them disperse or sneak a couple of dirty kicks in before you get up.

Of all the fighting games, SF has always been my favorite however, it does need an update in the gameplay department.

bison returns more sinister.ken and ryu's sensai returns as a fighting ghost to fight akuma.evil ken and ryu returns.chun li masters the fireball.basically all characters return as masters of their chosen styles.

ryu, now teaching,has a student that has turned evil with the dark hado.wants to kill ken's son.crazy stuff like that.

That had the same feel and intensity as the Ryu versus Sagat fight in the begining of the Street Fighter the animated movie. Dark and mysterious location(grassy plain). That was stylish as hell. One of the best game trailers ever.

I havn`t played Street Fighter that much, so i`m probably not as hyped as others for number 4 here, but it was a cool trailer and it would be even cooler if they kept the art style here, which looked great (and yes i know it was CGI, but keep it in the same style at least).

Hope for fans of the game the 3D version, which Street Fighter 4 seemed to be headed based on this trailer, makes the jump to 3D well.

Personally i would have liked to see a Onimusha game out of the announcement too, but maybe lather ehhh ;)

I think more people would want Dead Rising over Lost Planet, but since it was out half a year before, i think it`s sequel will be multiplatform instead, so PS3 gamers are getting both games in a sense (maybe hehe). Hope they tight up the controls though, as it seems many have complained about that
