Well boys and girls, Adam's back. No more rants and raves from across the Pacific. Nope, this time Adam is back at the G4 offices and taking on a topic that's sure to get you fired up: Halo 3 and the People Who Hate It. Adam lets loose like he's never done, so check it out.

I played Halo and halo 2 and don't see what's so good about the games. They're boring. That's my opinion. I don't push it on anyone but I also don't want the whole gaming world to push their opinion on me. Enough with stupid Halo and how it's God's gift to gamers. It isn't.

As for Adam Sessler's video, I have no idea what he said. G4's site sucks. Whenever I try to watch any video they put up I get 30 seconds of downloading, then 10 seconds of video. Then it stops and another 30 seconds of downloading. G4 really needs to do something about their slow site.

But maybe for different reasons. I am sure that the game is amazing and is the best on the 360 yet. I fell in love with Halo for the PC. The actual reason I don't care for it anymore sadly has nothing to do with the game.

It has to do with Halo being EXTREMELY hyped, and the continuous blabber of some people (I know not all of you do it) acting as if Bungie were angels sent directly from heaven to create the perfect game. I know there are other games that do get some of the same treatment (MGS4) but nowhere near the same level.

I just can't stand to not be able to get away from something. I see Master Chief in the drive-thru, the gas station, on TV, during my football games, and in the grocery store. That's just too much Master Chief for me. Therefore, I hate Halo.

If it is my connection I have the same problem at home as I have at work. I don't have the problem on other sites but when I try to play videos from G4 they all have the same problem. They load for around 30 seconds and play a few seconds then do it again.

I don't have this problem with most sites. But I do notice it all the time with videos on G4's site. Maybe it's the way their system communicates and the way my network at work is communicating. I am pretty sure though I have this problem at home. I guess I'll have to try it tonight.

I'm with you on the hype. I don't hate Halo 3 but I also don't care about it. All the hype is what is causing people to bash the game. I'm sure it's great if you like Halo. I bought Halo for the PC and while it was okay it wasn't anything great. I bought Halo 2 for the Xbox and again I didn't care for it. I played GTA San Andreas a lot more. I just don't get all the hype about Halo. I'm not really that much into playing online games though. Maybe it's only good if you like that. I just have too many other things to do with my free time.

Adam Sessler, maybe you should look at what's causing the Halo hate before you say it must stop. There is a good reason for a lot of it. We're tired of hearing about the game already.

I'm playing through it now, and on the last level I think (Lots of Flood in a big wet orifice thingy), and I think it is a really great game. About 10 hours so far (which puts it a little longer that Heavenly Sword, for those who say PS3 games are short :o) )

I don't understand why it got all those inflated reviews and thats my problem. I don't like all the hype that surrounds this single game, more than I've ever seen in any game launch in the past.

But Halo 3 really is all about the multiplayer anyway. And even more so, its about xbox live multiplayer. Over the weekend, I saw 1.5 million players on. On a slow weekday, there were almost 500,000 on. So there are people that do get it. I played the single player, and it was...ok. Multiplayer is where its at. If you don't like console shooters, stay away from Halo 3.

Some games, unfortunately, have to live up to hype. For instance, I was disappointed when the new Star Wars movie came out (Episode 1). It would have been a great movie all on its own, but it too had generated an extreme amount of hype. So ask yourselves, don't comment I just want you to think...Did this game, Halo 3, live up to the hype that was surrounding it?

The only time I make predictions that I say that this console is going to sell better than another one... EDIT : And by Universal Acclaim... if you could be more specific, I'd appreciate. Because if a handful of websites (yes, a hundred websites are a mere handful compared to the gaming mass in general) means "Universal Acclaim", then we do not have the same definition.

I take these scores like "suggestions", personally. Remember Gamespot with "Zelda : The Twilight Princess" and the Forum Riot they had because it had less than nine out of ten? They even gave MGS3 8.7 out of 10, which is blasphemy (at least... for me). But that didn't prevent me from making this game about... two hundred times to the point of knowing every soldier's patrol in the game.

The expectations of gamers has a lot of impact on the reviews, wether you want it or not. And NO, I'm not saying that all reviewers think that way. I aknowledge that Halo 3 is a great game to be played, everyone who likes shooters, even just a little bit, should play it at least once in his life. Even thought I aknowledge that, I think that the hype definitly had an impact on the review but... just like Sessler, you or any other guy : that is my opinion.

Halo has brought people to the gaming world that some of us didn't necesscarily want to have there. I don't enjoy going online and hearing about how high people are, how drunk they are, of how they're gonna rape my mother. That completely takes away from the gaming experience for me. Halo itself has torn apart the landscape of game development. I blame it personally for the massive influx of mediocre FPS games that have become so prevalent over the last couple of years. If developers think that's what gamers want, then that's what gets made, and those of us who a.) got out fill of GOOD FPS games years ago on the PC, b.) don't really enjoy playing online for above reasons, and c.) are begging for some games that aren't a vessel for a steroid-injected super-soldier, well, we've kind of gotten the shaft, and I blame MS and Halo for so drastically changing the market.

Here's an analogy (I'll assume you're in the U.S.): How do you feel about the sport of cricket? Personally, I think it's lame compared to baseball, but 1 BILLION INDIANS DISAGREE WITH ME! I don't care if you like Halo 3, I'm glad that you're getting enjoyment out of your 360 and having a good time with your friends. However, if I tell you I don't like FPS, will you continue to force the Halo love and marketing down my throat? The story is that The Halo's are a sacred icon to the Covenant and they try to activate it, not knowing if they do they will destroy every living life form in the galaxy. Master Chief stops it, Covenant escape. Covenant attack Earth. And warp to the next Halo. Master Chief stops them again, but the covenant and Truth escape, yada yada I won't go into halo 3 story cuz I know there's still people on here that haven't played it and want to spoiler free.

Frag fest- Makes the game more fast paced and makes it a hell of a lot easier to take out a sniper on the other side of the map by lobbing a plasma grenade at him.

Was it over hyped? That's for the accountants at MS and for the people that do play it to decide. Is a Harry Potter movie over hyped? In my opinion, absolutely; but it may not be the opinion of someone who actually likes it. The point is , however, I don't hate Harry Potter or Halo.

The problem with 99% of the Halo haters is that they have never played the game, and they never will because they don't have the console it's played on. When they see a single game on the 360 selling more than all the games for their system of choice combined, well lets just say it pushes them a little farther than the Ritlin is designed to handle.

Then just for that extra kick to the gut, when they realize that the sales rate of their console combined with the games attach rate of their console indicates that the games they themselves have been hyping and telling everyone to "wait" for will probably have the same chance of matching Halo's sales as an ice cube has in hell, well, insanity ensues.

I liked the game and play online almost everyday. Its single player games is ok. I liked most all of the battles the story is my only real complaint. I thought the graphics were decent not amazing (see mass effect). All in all I really liked it but it being the 3rd one not a lot changed so I had a been there done that feeling. Even in multi player no one wants to play the new matches. When a new match comes up you hear VVVVVVEEEETTTTOOO!!!!! over and over till you mute them. all in all I give it an 7.5 or 8. Hmmmm... Well from what I can see your either for it or against it. Can't anyone just be "OK" with it. I am "Ok" with Halo 3. Its got good controls but so does Super Stardust HD and Super Street Fighter 2 or almost any PC FPS... I wont go on and on about it... Halo has great controls for an FPS on a console. But remember this "For a console" Adma said that so many times its.... Anyway

What else does it have. An incredibly amazing story?.... Nope. It has a decent story at best. Nothing at all spectacular.... I'm ok with the story. Except for the total cop out in the end (I wanted to kill MS for not letting bungie kill off MC).

Does it do scale right? To a degree. Things are big like the scarabs. but are they anything compared to the horses in God of War 2 or Shadow of colosus? Nope. So to me its ok. Nothing that really stands out... Backgrounds are ok. Nothing like in other games I have seen recently i.e. Heavenly sword, Crysis beta.

The controls are responsive. Great. I like them.

The forge is... Ok. Nothing Amazing... You can't move pathways in levels or buildings like in UT3 or Starcraft or Worms. Or create a totally unique environment... This is just ok.

Camera mode... how many racing games have done this since PS1/N64.... Still you get some cool stuff with this mode.... This is OK too. maybe a little above OK. Its cool.

That and screen tearing, Framerate issues, Small MP online matches coupled with Lag (I have experienced it many times online and I have a superb conection when playing any other online system be it PC or PS3 or browsing with the wii) Online and offline.

Graphics are decent. This is ok...

Pacing is OK. There are fast times and slow times. Its just ok.

Overall I say the game is ok. Not amazing... ok... not bad... Ok. why cant we be OK with it. And why can't this subject die.

Personally I'm getting really sick of G4, offspring of tech tv. I just wish for once not every other story was involved with Halo or (Gears). Now don't take me as a hater, but neither of these games deserve the love-child affection that they get from G4. Halo 3 for instance, fun game, especially hammer vs. swords, but averaging mid to high level 9's out of ten for maps that are exactly the same as before, a mapmaker where you don't actually make maps, and unfortunately gamers so intent in rubbing it your face of much better Halo is than any other game. I don't no if anyone knows this but one genre of game cannot be graded against a different genre of game. Plus it sickens me to see that even when other consoles versions are available, if they're not I know, G4 is way too into showing an xbox 360 demo or video. I hope they realize that people with wii's, ps2's, ps3's, ds's, pc's, and psp's would enjoy see content for their respective systems. Pretty much now I watch G4 for ninja warrior.
As a side note though, if any of you watched the "G4 special 5.5 hrs of Halo 3 launch" and saw Sessler's reporting outside of the Best Buy in NYC, tell me you couldn't help but start laughing. I mean without a teleprompter he's like a twelve year old girl in the American Girl store, too excited about what they could possible buy to pretty up. Could he have been anymore amazed by the "intensity" that was going on outside the store. There are certainly a lot of bitter people who wish Halo would come to their console of choice. Most people that say Halo is crap and only Xbot enjoy it would jump for joy if it came to their system, and you know it's true. Say what you want but H3 is increasing the 360's lead. Thank you Adam for saying that, the game is just fun.

I think Halo 3's graphics get bashed on more than they should. Some of the character models (human faces mostly) leave a little to be desired, and the water, while good isn't as good looking as say Bioshock. But it really is a beautiful game. The lighting effects may be the best I've ever seen, and the African background is beautiful. Then again, I've been lucky enough to get a 40" 1080P Samsung, so just about every game looks great.

But it truly is the gameplay that makes the game. The controls, the huge battles with TONS of enemies at once, the multiplayer, etc. You can have GOW graphics, but if the gameplay isn't fun, is the game worth having? Nope.

I don't think it was feelings being hurt as it was aggravation. I'd say this came because of frustration from letter, e-mail, etc. saying the same things over and over. It also probably didn't help matters any that G4 devoted the whole night to the release of Halo 3. So I would say this was venting.

And to make it worse, people went to give this game perfect 10/10 while having these issues (framedrops at 640p, inability to find matches or even contact the Halo server, bad AI.)

Every game this generation has been judge on what it does wrong, not the things that it does right. Halo 3 as a new title on the PS3 would have received an 8.5 at most. Its the nature of this generation to not appreciate any game, because having any flaws makes it a failure (HEAVENLY SWORD GOT A 7 SOME PLACES BECAUSE OF BREVITY! IS THAT SERIOUS?)

My point is (if you dont wanna read all of that): One consoles software is purely graded on the things it does wrong. You can't change the standard for games, especially games the size of Halo, just because its Halo. It does multiplayer well, thats about it. Story kinda blows, it has graphics issues on a game that really isn't that graphically phenomenal from the get go. I like the game its fun as hell online. But its only about a 8.6 going by the standards put on the PS3 this generation.

Hello, i am sol and i'm a realist. Halo is an ok game, but is prone to turning otherwise intellegent people just plain stupid. It's a entity of black hole likeness. It sucks up people and turns them inside out while ruining the environments around it. Live hasn't been the same since the release of Halo 3. All the other games dried up, the service shrivled up into fetal position, and those of us who don't like halo had a ball. We had a ball because all of the bad seeds and expendable humans (plz die) were gone. I can NOT tell you how awesome CoD4 beta was without the halo crowd. It. Was. Ahmahzing.

So with that said, why do halo heads cry when people talk bad about their pre-cious game. It happens for every game and it should happen to every game or companies will break out the complacent book and whore you like the young tight thai prozzies you are. Don't you see how insane you people are anyways? You rave on and on and on about nothin'. You rave on about crap thats been done before a thousand times and with the detail of a 3rd grade level essay. Then you expect the world to agree with you? What?! I can understand, to a point, why gamers are so eager to point out any potential flaw in Halo. It's frustrating that Halo gets so much attention and focus because of the immense amount of money spent on marketing it when many games that are as good and/or better get far less or no attention at all.

I would much rather the mainstream face of gaming be far broader and more inclusive of the diverse entertainment that is available.

I have to agree with most of what Adam said. Halo 3 is just a good, solid game with a ton of extras. I don't even understand what people could be complaining about. What other consoles games can do what Halo 3 can do? You can go right down the list and look at other FPS and pound for pound they just don't compare. Sure, Bioshock and Gears may have had better graphics, but that's where the comparison stops even being a competition. Theater, Forge, Great multiplayer (I wish Gears could have had large levels with vehicles like Halo), Great Matchmaking...you could go on an on.

I have been so frustrated with Microsoft and the 360. Halo 3 finally makes me feel like it was worth it.
