zConnection's 100 Games To Play Before You Die: Pt. 21

Connor Beaton writes: "Before we get into today's game, I'd like to take this time to make a special announcement. After the conclusion of the 100-day period over which these articles are being published, a compendium featuring all 100 parts will be released in book form. It will be available exclusively form the upcoming zConnection store (along with a plethora of other merchandise), so you better hoard all your rupees, gold and gil in anticipation of that frabjous day.

"Prince of Persia

"The original 1989 Prince of Persia lacked a lot of the gameplay mechanics which define the franchise today. Wall running, time stopping, and extremely unrealistic combat all became prominent elements only in 2003's The Sands of Time. The game is a lot more like a traditional platformer (albeit with more deadly spikes and sword-fighting warriors), and puts players in the shoes of a nameless prince of Ancient Persia, who has to save the Persian princess from the Sultan's vizier, Jaffar."
