Connor Beaton writes: "The Longest Journey is a point-and-click adventure (á la yesterday's The Secret of Monkey Island), although having been developed almost a decade later, there are a few things that distinguish The Longest Journey from Monkey Island, the most obvious of which being 3D graphics and complete voice acting. Something which should also become clear quickly is that while Monkey Island was parodic and even self-mocking, The Longest Journey is a serious adventure for serious gamers."
