Short video games have gotten a bad rap, even the better ones. Not everyone can allocate 80 to 100 hours of their lives to save a fictitious princess. And as my childhood friend once said, "Ten hours of awesome is better than 20 hours of boring."

So to coincide with the start of the shortest month of the year (you know, February), here's a look at the five best games that also happen to have lean single-player stories. You wouldn't judge a good book or movie by its length -- nor should you with games.
