Epic brought in veteran comics writer Joshua Ortega (credits include Spider-Man Unlimited, Star Wars Tales and his first novel Frequencies), who had a hand in writing the script for Gears of War 2, to write the new Gears comic and ensure that the franchise has believable characters and engaging stories, in addition to the chainsodomy and Mature-rated gore. Ortega took some time to talk about his role in the new comic, as well as the impact that games are having on the medium."
