Xbox 360 Beats PS3 At Apollo Theatre

People visiting the Apollo were given a chance to play the ps3 and xbox 360 version of fight night 3 on 1080p displays. There was a splitscreen comparison done by H3TV and Juelz Santana goes to say "H3TV completely exposed that PS3's High Definition picture doesn't come close to Xbox, at least for "Fight Night."

I like both systems, but as usual i feel microsoft and its fan boys are spinnning this a little. PS3 shines with resistance and NBA, motorstorm is a very nice looking game,a nd fun to play. The 360 has some good games, but they leave a fresh stank taste in my mouth it really bores me. I catch myself thinking that the 360 has been out 1 yr and the graphics have improved a little. The game play is so-so. I've been playing PS3 for a week now and look forward to playing it because it's a funner system. I really feel that in 1 yr the PS3 will be leaps and bounds ahead of 360. Microsoft makes a good console, but it leaves that PC gaming funk about it. As to where the PS3 has that 8 bit nintendo fun about it with good graphics to boot.

The Xbox being more like past Nintendo console's was part of the reason i bought XB1. It's games give me that old-school arcade feel and feels more like Nintendo than PS2 or 3, the 360 gives me that same feeling but offers so much more.

Right now this minute xbox 360 produces better visuals for multiplatform games and exclusives. This game is proof of that being a close to launch title for both systems. at all the side by side comparisons at the various websites and cannot distinguish any noticeable difference. Its possible that the monitor running the ps3 games wasn't tuned to be as sharp. Just read the AVS forums and you will learn real fast how monitors can be tuned / untuned. Again, this event cannot be viewed as unbiased -- it was staged by a company that is selling and marketing xbox360's and not PS3s. This was a marketing event, replete with paid extras and all the accouterments of a launch event. Its very easy to manipulate an audience.

I've read reviews on Gamespot and other places that say Call of Duty 3 looks better on 360 because it doesn't have framerate issues like the PS3 and I believe those reviews because they were conducted by from what I can tell are unbiased sources. (I think I still want to get it for Wii, though)

most of them choose to crap all over the PS3 whenever articles like these are released. Shows a lack of confidence on their part since they get so overly concerned with a competitors product on a daily basis, even when the news puts their own console in a favorable light.

Just look at the Motorstorm posts. A good 80% of the posts involve 360 owners talking crap about the PS3 and spreading false information, acting as if we're blind. The gameplay videos of upcoming PS3 titles are worrying them, and I guess that kind of reaction is expected. I just didn't realize they'd react this aggressively.

The situation actually is gradually improving though. People like Thammer have actually become more impartial and give props where they're due, regardless of platform.

I have all 3 consoles and I want all 3 to succeed and it doesn't have to be at the expense of any other. Certainly Sony could have had a better launch -- they basically lied to their customers about when they would launch, how many they would launch with and what games would launch. Though they always told us it would be expensive. Microsoft had problems with launch quantities but never over-portrayed the quality of launch titles which were pretty crappy IMO. Remember yet a year ago the comparisons between xbox and xbox360 titles having little difference. Now we're comparing PS3 and 360 titles showing little difference and everyone's saying the 360 is owning. PS2 is still outselling 360. Sony has huge development resources and I'm looking forward to all the games coming out soon (lair, warhawk, heavenly sword, motorstorm, etc) as well as some of the 360 and wii games. I just wish I had enough time to play them all.

The Motorstorm demo is a blast to play the physics are off the hook and using the axis control to steer while in first person view is a totally visceral experience. I haven't played anything like it before. This game shows me that the PS3 is real and real fun.

I'm getting a little tired of these comparison pieces. Granted, my own blog touched on the first of the comparisons; but is comparing them over and over going to teach us something new?

I don't know how many people will pick their system based on which looks better playing games available on both systems. Sure; I know SOME will. But, let's be honest; what sells a system--or what SHOULD sell a system--is its exclusives. Some folks are buying Xbox 360's for Gears of War or Blue Dragon (or whatever); and some folks are buying PlayStation 3's for Resistance or the promise of God of War 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 (or whatever).

And no matter what console they chose, they still get to play Fight Night Round 3, or Madden, or Need for Speed, or Tony Hawk's Project 8, or Call of Duty 3. The games look great on both systems. Subtle variances don't change that.

This isn't new info....I have told yall many times from my personal experience playing both consoles......The 360 is clearly better in terms of Graphics and Gameplay. Why do sony fans get so defensive and hurt by this? Its a Fact. And its not even close. Its very very obvious. And its not just Fight Night. Every single launch game I have...Including Resistance....Doesn't come close to the games for the 360. And I play both systems at the highest resolution....1080p. Resistance is clearly the best looking game for the ps3...but with that said...its no where near as good as Gears, Prey, Fear, or GRAW. Its a "Good" game. Need to stop trying to compare ps3 games 360 games. Screen shots don't tell the whole story. And every editors comparisson and at the Apollo where they played both on the same 1080p tvs....came to the same conclusion. The 360 is superior in regards to next gen games. But why does that bother sony fans so much? That part of the war is over. Let it go. If the ps3 would have launched...and the ps3 games looked and played better.....I would be the first to man up and say it. I would be honest and let people know the ps3 is better for games. I don't get paid by MS or Sony. And I love games regardless of the platform. Sure I say thanks MS often. But I'm sure every 360 owner on this site feels the same way. Who would have really thought that a console that launched a year ago....and for 200 dollars less....would offer the best gaming system for years to come? Just ports crap it isn't true. You have to look at each EA studio individually. EA Chicago was praised ofr the 360 version. I don't know if they did this port, but if they did than you all are basically calling this great studio a failure. They are doing DJ3 for both systems, so let's compare those when they're out at the same time. Personally, after viewing the 1up and gamespot articles, I agree clearly 360 wins all multiplatform games. I don't recall any launch PS3 game looking as good as PGR3 for the 360 launch either. When all the launch hype dies down the average consumer, which isn't us, will see the 360's superiority. No company stays at the top forever, and I think we'll see Sony drop their #1 position this time.

I have to agree about EA's laziness and thier quality of titles. Wasn't there an article on here last week of some group attacking the qaulity of EA's games. As far as hip hop and EA, look at all the BIG series games. Notice that all the soundtracks are completely hiphop. Hey I like hiphop more than most other music genres, but it's the truth. Look at Def Jam game series with Jacob the Jeweler, you can even by hip hop apparel in the in-game stores for your character. EA knows what they're doing and who their targeting.

1. Just because the Developers HAD more time to work on the PS3 version of Fight Night, doesn't mean they used it. If you think about it, it doesn't make economic sense for them to spend more time on it (being a cross-platform title) when they could start working on the next version for both consoles or a new game altogether.

2. IT IS a fact that most people, websites, magazines, etc. with the means that have compared games that are on both the PS3 and 360 give the nod to the 360 version. Because...

3. Having a year head start, the 360 WILL BE the lead platform for games developed for 360 AND PS3. Companies have had their 360 dev kits longer and they are easier to use, so even if the PS3 is more powerful (still unproven IMHO), the games will look the same or slightly better on 360.

4. It is Sony's fault. By using the Cell and including Blu-Ray, they caused the PS3 to miss its initial ship date, gave Microsoft a year head start, and now most cross-platform games will look better on 360, now and from now on. Couple that with negative press, lack of available systems, and a higher price point, and Sony has all but ensured that Microsoft will gain significant market share this generation, and Sony will have its Hands full keeping them from taking over the lead.

But there are some PS3 ports that look slightly better than their 360 counterparts. Like Tiger woods 07 for example. With bigger crowds and more detailed looking trees according to gamespot.
Nba2K7 have also been slightly upgraded, with sharper textures and more player animations. But the framerate will get choppy if you play it in 1080p according to gamespot. But most of the launch games are somewhat visually inferior
on the ps3 comapred to the xbox 360, but not very much. Just wanted to make a point, that the sword stings in both directions.

EA made the game on ps3 first,then ported it to ps3.that's funny voluptuary.

EA created a TARGET VIDEO that no one got to ACTUALLY PLAY.with no background detail.then they actually MADE a 360 version of the game that doesn't even come close to the detail and animation of the target video.very fun game but doesn't reach the video.then they ported the game over to ps3 and did some things better and some things not better than the 360 version.

look at the EA banners, you can see the detail in the default xbox screens, you can see all the ripples in the material an everything!! now move down to the second pic, same thing you can see the detail in the banners,the lady in the dont look like she's pasted in the pics on the default pic. then look at the far top rope on the ring, look how the defaulf pic looks like a red rope but when you do the mouse over that same rope looks like a ziggily line!!third pic, look how the light just burst through the windows on the default pic an on the mouse over pic it just looks like the light is on!!

now move over to the nba 2k7, now look at the reflections in the floor, the default pic you can see more light reflections behind dirk an haslem, you can notice that right away on the first pic! now move down to the second pic, you see that reflection on the floor behind dirk, now do the mouse over an you'll notice that then isnt any reflection at all there, so... you can clearly see that the xbox 360 looks better with more detail an I can do this with all the games an pics. that last need for speed pics you cant even see all the things in the rear view mirror on the ps3.

I'm glad that EA completely overhauled the lighting system. As much as I love bloom lighting, it's best in small doses. The PS3 version has noticeably more textural detail, more naturalistic lighting, and some nice sweat effects.

Animation-wise, the two versions seem identical. I'm actually hoping that they'll tone up the animation in part 4 so that the characters don't move in such a stiff manner. I know you need quick reactions in a game, but adding some weight/momentum simulation would be nice.

So there you have it the x box is superior to the ps3 at this moment in time and from the looks of it just might continue to be. Damn i remember a time when my friend told me that x box 360 was gonna rock ass and i couldn't believe i was like no way its sucks. ill admit that i was wrong and i am going to apologize on behalf of all the ps3 fan boys for ever stating that the x box 360 is inferior cause clearly it is not. I keep running out of excuses for my beloved playstaion. I could say its up to the developer to decide which is better but that doesn't change the fact x box games still look superior isn't that what we are paying for anyway.

This is the punishment i get for my loyalty its true love is cruel and unyielding. I'm just thankful i got my brother an x box for his birthday now i wont miss out on what it has to offer. I'm not giving up hope on ps3 just yet ill think of it as a future investment right now i doesn't seem worth it but perhaps someday it will be. maybe exclusives will have something better offer, yeah well, just have to wait and see. I have to admit the first time i got my hands on an xbox360 i wasn't really impressed i never would have guessed it would come this far. maybe its the same with sony only difference is x box never lied and oh yeah its a hell of a lot cheaper. Apology accepted buddy. I wish all sony fanboys could be honest and real about this next gen of gaming we are now in. I think the ps3 will do much better when the price comes down considerably. I just have a feeling that many of the ps3 exclusives will make their way to the 360 sooner rather than later. Right now 10 plus million gamers is very tempting to dev for...then couple that with the ease and lower costs of developement....its looking very bright for the 360.

Nobody likes to back a loser. How can they argue when every place I look (gamespot, g4, ign, gamepro...) and our own experience tell us the 360 is a better system. Sony has always overhyped thier products and underdelivered. The PS3 was the same case. A system almost as powerful as the 360 slapped together with a Poo-Ray becasue they got burned on the DVD formatl, and every other format they tried to bring out.

over 100 million ps2's sold. playstation has a very very large fan base and is onit's way to dominate again. I can see where the microsoft guys are all blowing there bag pipes and yada yada. You might want to focus on outselling the PS2 this holiday season, because this is more than likely going to be your last. PS2 is still blasting good sales. Your only selling in North america anyway. VHS won even though Betamax was generally better.
Minidisc was technically better than CD but it hardly got off the ground.
DVD-Audio is amazing but people don't buy it anymore.
American cars sell more here even though Japanese cars are generally better.

So your argument that the playstation name is a "cultural icon" may be sadly true, but that says absolutely nothing about the quality of the brand or its products. Personally, I think they stink compared to the competition ever since the PS2 (I'll admit the original was better than the competition, even though I think the N64 was way more fun), and I've yet to find a good reason to think otherwise.
