Where would the Metal Gear games be without their diverse cast of villains? While the heroes of the long-running series are few – each entry introduces countless new and memorable additions that strike fear in gamers hearts.
IGN set about the task of narrowing down this lovable bunch and selecting the 10 greatest Metal Gear villains of all time. Some are major headliners, while others merely provided a few minutes of unforgettable gaming bliss. Whatever the case, each of of these bad guys and girls deserve their spot in the annals of gaming history.
The following ten baddies were chosen based on legacy, overall impact in the MGS world, characterization, threat/challenge level and editor's choice. (And IGN left out the Gears because they are more object than character. Deal with it.)
