"Starting with games like Everquest and reaching the pinnacle with World of Warcraft, the modern age of MMO's has won over tens of millions of gamers and is still going strong. People pay by the month or year in order to be able to play these games. They gladly buy expansion pack after expansion pack in order to gain new areas, equipment, quests, etc. Some gamers have become so enraptured by these games that they've temporarily messed up their lives simply because they couldn't stop playing."
