GameTap: Chuck D: Pass the Mic - The voice of NBA Ballers talks sports, hip hop, and his Strat-O-Matic addiction

GameTap writes: When I hear the words "rapper" and "dice" in the same sentence, the last thing I think of is Strat-O-Matic. But I'm talking to legendary Public Enemy frontman Chuck D about his role as announcer in NBA Ballers: Chosen One when the man known for fierce rhymes in songs like "Black Steel in an Hour of Chaos" and "Welcome to the Terrordome" lets slip that he's really just a sports nerd hiding as the coolest rapper of all time. That's right, Chuck D spent his youth playing--hold it now--Strat-O-Matic Baseball, rolling the dice, and looking up the cards of players like Rickey Henderson to see if he could score from first on a double to right field.

"The first 20 years of my life, I played so much Strat-O-Matic I was addicted. And as a sports fan growing up, that's what I wanted to be, an announcer. I used to do the play-by-play over the dice games all day, every day. Then all of a sudden rap came out in 1979 and took me to another place."
