poorly done....mario photo opens mgs in full screen...GTA does not work...

and where is tomb raider? that would have been a good one considering how the image has changed or how about fifa or Madden rather than halo twice and 2 car games. GT should be displayed rather than PGR simply due to it being an older franchise.

IF you are only going to have that amount shown....display a wider range.

other than that is is interesting to see how graphics have evolved.

Oh, one last rant-the images all looked VERY similar....that is due to the size im guessing and not a very good representation as Tekken 2 looks almost as good as the PS2 version and the same with MGS. This is obviously not true in real life lol.

basically....i feel this was a good idea but poorly executed.

I agree the pics are so small and such poor quality you can't appreciate the differences. GTA 4's close up and Halo 3's rocks in the back ground are the only way you can tell differences with out working at it. MGS4 well i dont know what i'm looking at to make any calls is it CGI?.

I did not realize this was from PSU that explains everthing after going in the site seeing halo with two comparisons comparing two finished games with a Beta explaines it. It also explains why a PS3 fan would get news from a PS3 site and try to make some fanboy point trying to justify it by showing a 360 game in its beta form with place holders put in place. Halo twice? with a betta build. who did this a 14 year old Sony fanboy?.

Edit: No, that FFVXIII isn't in-game, but PSM said FFXIII (so far) looks identical to Spirits Within. What other game can look as good as that movie??? Even Crysis can't boast those visuals...

why have people said that they have seen final fantasy 13 in real time and the ones that have seen it are the ones that usually give you behind the scenes news on games in the works for the systems, and what you mean even crysis cant produce those visuals uh duh thats because pcs arent made to produce cutscene and even 4d graphics in game idiot what dont you idiots get? even how you believe that pcs have surpassed the ps3 they are not even close the ps3 has a supercomputer inside of it so do you know what that means ps3 can convert cg or cutscene or even movie graphics into realtime or make it look even better than cutscenes in the future, you idiots beleive that ram has something to do with the ps3s power ram has little influence on the ps3 performance as you can see with early ps3 titles that arent even using the ps3 in the way that it was built, many of you idiots thank that ps3 and the 180 are equal or barely different sorry to inform you far from it if the 180 was as powerful as the ps3 then the 180 could do this could it not:

it never sinks into your thick skulls how powerful this machine really is do you already forget what the original plan and still remaining plan is for the ps3 it was and is to make the in game indistinguishable from the cutscenes uh duh thats why they put a supercomputer in the machine oh and i will fill you in on why the cell is not just for making physics and alot of people on screen:

first off- supercomputers are the ones that render graphics for movies in the first place and also they create the cg films for your video games (nobrainer why the ps3 has already outdone your pcs and the 180 and also why the ps3 has a 10 year+ lifecycle) the only reason why the ps3 hasnt produced any games currently out with graphics anything far beyond crysis is because no developer hasnt invested enough money, manpower, and time to produce a game that could surpass a cutscene in game that takes time but developers are to lazy duh dont you get it you need money to make movies so it also would take money to make a game with movie visuals and first of all the pc may have better graphics but ps3 is moving out of the graphic era that is why the processor is called the cell and the graphics chip is called the Reality Synthesizer (you will regret saying that this graphic chip is weak or pcs have surpassed it) and the blue ray disk i assure you whereas pcs will have great graphics the ps3 will be putting out reality in realtime i feel really sorry for the one and thousands of you that belive that 180 or pcs are anywhere near the ps3 in this day and time and howd you get the idea that a pc was more powerful than the 180 or the ps3 anyway pcs have never ever ever surpassed consoles that fast but considering the ps3 has a supercomputer inside of it then i really dont see the pcs surpassing this machine for many years oh and i can assure you that killzone DOES look better than the trailer try to make as many excuses and complaints that the ps3s specs are not high or the same as the 180 if you wish surely you WILL be dissapointed in soon comming time, truth of the matter is that the specs you see for ps3 on paper is weak compared to the specs when the cell and rsx are merged let me tell you something about supercomputers they are all about multiplication ill tell you an example look at the number of people and objects on screen on a game like lair it may have started out with one dragon but thanks to the supercomputer in the ps3 there are thousands of dragons and people on screen at the same time well that isnt the only function of the cell as you can see the visuals of lair are second to none the game is huge with astounding graphics this is why the pc and 180 cannot do this game they have no supercomputer and no RSX and no blue ray now back to my point because the ps3 has seperate computers inside of it as powerful as the rsx is or even as weak as some of you think it is the 9 processors multiply the RSX plenty of times think of it crysis looks nice someone said that crysis had a level with 2,000,000 polygons on screen thats nice BUT in killzone one character had more than that think about it say RSX could produce 3 million polygons on screen (i assure you it can) but thanks to the cell that is drastically multiplyed this is why you can easily have games like killzone and final fantasy if you dont have a lazy developer dont worry i have proof that the ps3 is not anywhere near maxed out and is just doing its warm up routine:

the first was an example of what games can look like with rsx and cell, the second was only the cell working alone to generate that fully 3d world, the third was what you get with the power of rsx and cell together, third was with the cell and rsx now the scary thing is is that these tech demos were made extremely early in ps3 developement the one where the RPG world was created in realtime was created in the very place where the demonstration was held now this is very scary of just the idea of how games can and will look in the future the fact that they are only tech demos i cant imagine a full blown game and if i where pc and 180 fans i would be extremely scared if IBM ever decided to develope a game for the ps3 you would without a doubt see the first 4d rendered game that is a fact

this is for those of you that think that crysis or glitches of ware is so much superior to resistance and it was just a launch game and they are making resistance 2 they couldve easily made the game look better graphically but were more concered on displaying the immense power of the ps3 not just graphics and crysis wouldnt look any were near resistance if they had aimed for this instead

when a developers decide to make a game using these grapics say goodbye to 180 and pc some idiot said this was made for pc graphic chips but the truth is this was a representation of what cell and rsx can do back in e3 2005 i would happily like to see this running on a pc of any kind out of a cutscene this is supercomputer power and closing in on 4d only the cell powered ps3 can do this
