2.2 - Why?

Why does everyone that plays online need a headset. I have one but i use it to talk to my actual friends when i am playing with them. I hate it when everybody in the lobby of cod4 has a mic and is just talking about nothing and i cant hear anything. So why does everybody need a mic?

I don't use them because they haven't been implemented in a smart way. Right now all I get is a bunch of annoying background noise, and I would give it if I used one. Games like Warhawk, which have push to talk are the only games I use a mic on, otherwise its just annoying (even Warhawk is annoying now, since they added "always on" in).

In my opinion, controllers need a seperate button for mic communication. L3 is a little annoying since you use that analog stick for gaming. At the very least they should stop using the always on system.

4 - Didn't Dig the Article...

Any time I see "Essential" gear for gaming in a title, I get excited to hit the link and see some new gadget or idea that I might be missing out on... some new technology or something I haven't heard of. Well... this was obviously not that kind of article... I know the guy writing the article was trying to be funny (and parts made me somewhat grin... well, not really), but his attempt at humor was even weak... oh well...

Did i mention how much i love the write up's these guys do? It's like reading sarcastic gamer or Kotaku articles. Written with sarcasm peppered throughout whatever they are talking about. I don't game on couch though i have this comfortable a** chair i sit in that is about 7 feet away from my HDtv. I need a sound system though for it, which is something they're missing from this list.

how ur soo right, i don't have surround sound persue, but i do have four speaker with crisp stereo sound and a woofer, (good enough) nothing bothers me more than hearing the tv speaker crackle under the pressure of a good shooter.

Check on the tv and man throne tho,... for me, its tv, sound, throne... and a secluded place to yell at the game and turn it UP!!!

Yeah man that's what i need. A good man throne and surround sound. My HDTV is good and my chair is good but i need to take it up a few notches. I agree with you on the tv speaker thing. I hate when i have to turn down the volume because the speakers can't handle the carnage.

is "unsanitary" about pissing in a bottle? It's unsanitary to pee on the floor or the couch. If I were to pee in my kitchen sink while playing video games because I didn't want to go upstairs and use the toilet....THAT would be unsanitary.
