I think you will find the best game this gen is still SMG according to ratings. Sad that even with all MGS had to offer it couldnt even beat a last gen Mario game.

But MGS4 is considered the best game this next gen in most of its reviews and is also one of the greatest games of all time. That alone sets MGS4 apart from SMG. Will SMG win GOTY over MGS4? I dont think so. As of right now with the games out right now including GTA4, I think its safe to say MGS4 hands down is the clear pick for GOTY.

Finally someone with some sense. I never go by review's cause it is based on someone's opinion, and lord do i have a different opinion than most. But to the game, i gameflyed it and sent it back next day. And i am so glad i canceled my pre order.

This is a site for people who care about game news. People who are interested in the business of games as well as simply playing them.

Of course its appropriate to discuss and talk about how such an important landmark title is doing - thats the very purpose of such a site!!

The only thing sad about it, is seeing muppets like you bothering to come in and post on a subject you say you don't care for!

If you don't care for news about games - go and vist 'gardening monthly', or 'knitting techniques for mummy boys' or whatever else it is that you do like talking about. The rest of us will talk about games, sales and the endless speculation of whats happening in this business next.

Just to briefly touch on the actual subject for second, its good to see such a well realized title getting the kind of sales and accolades it deserves. All too often real craftsmanship is buried in a heap of marketing blurb and IP exploitation thats sees weak poorly realized tat sell well while more considered works are overlooked. Nice to see its not always that way (though there was never any doubt!)

really, there is nothing I'm being a muppet about. fender really nothing to be sad about, I did see the article and voicing an opinion which obviously does not reflect yours and others praises about this game.

I'm making a statement based on what I've seen on here that goes on, and when there is a xbox 360 game and articles are being posted in the same mannner, we'll see the same.

I remember when the Amazon articles were somewhat similar with every change, was an article, it didn't make it right for either console.

It's OK to play Blinds eye..then cry hypocrisy later on.

This has nothing to do with one machine or another? No one suggested it did? Why try and get a console war element into it? For the record I own, use, and produce titles for all machines.

You also made no comment on the game or its merits for me to agree with, or disagree with.

You merely complained that people here were posting so much news of how it was doing and saying that this was sad behaviour. Considering thats what the site is for, its not sad in the slightest and your second post has only confirmed that you seem to have a loose grip on what the story is, what you actually said, and weather you have anything of value to say at all?

People are sad because they are interested in the best selling game for the week? Charts are no longer of interest because you are bored of them? You don't care because its UK charts? Seriously, if you had a point to make you need to learn how to say it, because charts are of intrest to the majority of users here - and they change constantly.

Persoanlly I come here for the news. The stuff I find interesting I read and sometimes comment on. The stuff thats not of interest to me, I pass by. People aren't sad if they want news on something I'm not interested in, they are simply differnet and I don't post calling them sad unless theres a reason too!

@tk, these are just UK numbers, meaning if it dropped 59% it was based on the last UK numbers not worldwide.

-uhm, well then how about just look at the lists that only show game sales on individual platforms, either way I don't think sites are going to stop doing lists that lump sales for 1 title across multiple platforms compared with games on 1 platform....ha ha they have been doing that before MGS4 released, ya know?

They are both truthful. If you read both, you'll notice that the other one is total sales for each game. Meaning it was stacking MGS (exclusive to Ps3) and Lego indiana (multi on 7 systems). This one is breaking that up per game per system.

It's a feeble fishhead attempt at trying to spread more disinformation that MGS4 is still #1 when it is in fact dropping and now at #2. Since this is the POS3's Halo I expect it to bounce around in the charts for the next few weeks and then fade away.
