Wii Generation Hits vs. PS2 Generation Hits

In the previous generation of consoles, there were three machines vying for publisher support – the Playstation 2, the Xbox, and the Gamecube. Looking at releases for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 it appears that most of the top franchises on those consoles have already been released. Wii has hits? Where? I see people buying wii cause it's on the news as being the "hot new thing" but no one ever plays it. I know 30 people who has bought one probably and maybe 3 of them play it reguarly.

The wii has no games that appeals to me. Galaxy can be played on the ps2 in ratchet and clank coming commando, Zelda was alright but it can be played on the gamecube, metroid prime is also on the gamecube. I mean, what does the wii have but ports of last gen games? Nothing.

Ps2 was the king and penicle of gaming and will probably always be the way ps3 and xbox 360 are going.

When angry gamers come and troll Wii topics because their depressed at their consoles performance. Look I own a PS3, Wii and a 360. And I love and play them all. If the Wii isn't your favorite then great. But trolling is unnecessary. If your depressed wait until thursday for MGS4. Personally I bought a PS3 for FFXIII so i really don't care about its performance. Likewise I got the 360 for Gears, and the Wii for Brawl and Mario. Good games are everywhere on all the systems. Open your eyes a bit. If you don't want to then join some other forum. We don't want trolls here.

I don't know why all you guys are bashing on siligon. He's comment seems perfectly valid to me. I'm sure some of you are legitimatly just getting annoyed at people saying that all the time, so what I'm about to say you can ignore.

But for you others, it seems like somewhere in your mind you know that wii onwers generally don't play it and only bought it because they got sucked into the hype and your annoyed at the fact.

I have seem the enormous software numbers, but I still get the feeling wii onwers still don't play on their console very much. To me it's still very much a fad.

A. You didn't read the article, or
B. You didn't understand the article

The title is just referring to the leaders of each generation. The PS2 sold most last generation, so it's considered the PS2 Generation (according to the author of the article). The Wii is selling far more that the 360 and PS3 this generation so he's referring to this generation as the Wii generation. He's not showing any favor or bias, he's just simplifying the title.

Saying that "no one" plays the Wii is a very bold statement seeing as how its selling more software than everything else out there. I play mine all the time, but that's just me.

And please don't compare Rachet and Clank to Galaxy. They're both great, but just don't.

Lastly, it's my opinion, but beating Metroid Prime 3 was one of the most satisfying experiences ever. The controls are fantastic. So far, the controls haven't been beaten by anything on any other console experience in my honest opinion. It was so different from the GameCube installments.
