Joystiq TGS 08: RE5, SFIV, White Knight, more to support PS3 Trophies

Joystiq writes: "We're still recovering from our trip to TGS (in fact, we're still here in Tokyo). However, we thought you'd appreciate this list of new games which will definitely be supporting Trophies when they release on the PS3. Big first-party and third-party titles can be found on this list:

* Demon's Soul
* Derby Time Online
* Gomibako
* Quantum Theory
* Resident Evil 5
* Street Fighter IV
* White Knight Chronicles
* Yakuza 3

Unfortunately, the status of other big PS3 games, like Final Fantasy XIII, is still TBD."

It will indeed.
But the sad thing about Yakuza 3 is that we probably won't get the game until 2010 :(.
Yakuza 2 has only recently come out and we are now awaiting Yakuza: Kenzen.

I was just wondering what type of trophies would be in SF4. I mean i'm sure one of them will be beat the game with every character. But besides that i can't think of many. Besides, i want the online to be awesome with no lag. Like SC4 online but without all the full servers.

I'm sure Square Enix will have some excuse to not supprot trophies. "The system wasn't in place when development started" or some such.

actually and i hope im wrong here- i read that games starting development in 2009 have o have trophy support. Past development would seem to be exempt.

your right..

games begining development past Jan 1, 2009 will be required to include trophy support

however, even games exempt from this obligation will most likely implement support anyway- it's a quick, easy and cheap way to increase value and consumer appeal for your game... and lack of it will make your games less appealing in comparison to the plethora of games that will support trophies

i mean look at the fall line-up, nearly all of the big titles will launch with trophy support

this indicates that in 2009, around 90% of games will support trophies- Sony will probably make them mandatory somewhere in 2009 too

now if only we could get some more old games patched for replay value (i've been looking for a reason to replay Assasins Creed)

LOL the news just gets better and better. Home is meant to be released this year whilst LBP is raking in the high scores and with so many other good exclusives comming our way and most games are supporting trophies its just geat to be a PS3 owner. Ure bragging days are over XBOTs you just dont have any competion left in you anymore against the mighty PS3. Do ure selfs a favour and trade in ure XFLOPS whilst you can still get a decent trade in price LOL.
