1UP: Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One Preview

Valkyrie Profile remains one of Tri-Ace's most beloved games, even if the PS2 sequel from a few years back wasn't exactly a world-shaker. The original PS1 game placed players in control of Lenneth, a valkyrie of legend whose task was to assemble the souls of fallen warriors to battle against the end of the world. It was remarkable for the way in which it combined the standard Tri-Ace action-RPG design with a 2D platformer.

One might think that the same thing that made the original Profile so appealing would be lost in a tactical RPG. Yet that's precisely what this sequel is, but it still manages to remain true to the feel of the original.
