MGS4 release still this year?

Officialy MGS4 was planned for a 2007 release, but at the E3 Konami delayed the game to 'early 2008'. Now, at the official TGS website from Konami, MGS4 is again stated for a Winter 2007 release.

Please sony, get over yourself. Yeah, breaking news, your plan for world domination backfired. You didn't put gaming first, you janked everyone and put your new tv,movie,and money skam ahead of what gamers care about most, quality gaming.

Thanks for your astounding PR department sony!! Otherwise average people couldn't figure out for themselves that the Cell processor was built for video decoding(even though the ps3 is $100-200 too expensive), with blu-ray. BTW, how is Toshiba's new line of hdtv's fairing with the spectacular Cell processor? Game devs know your bs.

I see this being probable. After all, latest news said they would have Metal Gear Online be bundled with MGS4, and Metal Gear Online is slated to be released in December for Japan according to the beta. I guess we will find out at TGS. Plus the latest podcast with Kojima Productions and Ryan Payton said there would be a surprise with 8 of the MGS4 demo kiosks at the Sony booth when you complete the demo. I say it's a possible release date posted at the end of the demo being this year.

I"m allll game for them releasing this year, as long as it doesn't effect the quality of it. I don't mine waiting if its worth it.With ps3 finally coming out with good games on a regular basis, and ps2 still kicking with the jrpg goodness, I already got a lot of games to play on my plate already!!

I remember one of SONY guys ( treton or harrison.. I dont know which ) said they will boost ps3 sells with games like MGS4 in christmas(he was sure)... but Im sure it was before E3...

bad news for the '08 lineup, and Killzone. I'm sure KZ2 could have leaned on this as a Q1 release to help their dev time along. Hopefully we don't see any other games rushed as a result.

The Fall lineup is strong enough anyway IMO. Plenty of good sports games, Folklore, HS, Uncharted, Ratchet, CoD4, UT3, Haze, etc. it all just looks good. The more the merrier, but in all honesty, I think there's room for this game to wait. Japan only release maybe, b/c I can't imagine Haze and the other shooters to put a big dent there, but anywhere else...MARCH.

Winter 2007 means the winter season this year. If they said "winter 2008" would you assume that meant this January or next?

It was announced for March 2008 before and this hasn't changed. (That actually means Holiday 2008, guys. Let's be real. They don't release AAA games in March. If you're lucky, it'll be August 2008.)

If they introduce a $400 ps3 and MGS4 this holiday ALONG with Uncharted, then it gives Sony a serious competitive edge.

People were lining up in line for days to get a PS3 at launch day at 600 bucks and no games (at least according to 360 fanboys). The PS3 was selling ok before the price drop. The price drop made the PS3 selling more and more and yet with no games (again that's what 360 fanboys think). Can you imargin how good the PS3 will sell at the price of 400 bucks with all the games (from solid to great, even though the 360 fanboys still don't admit it) that are out right now?

This is one of the biggest tittle for the PS3 so PLEASE DON'T RUSH AND TAKE TIME. I rather wait for a couple months then play an incomplete game early. They need to polish it as much as they can. Fix some glitch (cuz I'm sure the game will have some glitches), online play (nothing more annoying than laggy online play)...

its the last one Kojima is directing dude...rest assured...it won't be rushed...he hasn't screwed up yet (aside from the critics that can't follow the story...I will admit though that MGS2 was pretty f'n strange)...

either way i can't wait...day 1 purchase for me no matter when it comes out...I do agree though that I would be happy to wait until March for this...Its doubtful that we will see KZ2 this fiscal...which sucks too...but last winter absolutely sucked for releases, for all systems...if MGS 4 comes out in the middle of march with the online game bundled...thats probably all I need until a year from now...

As much as I want to play MGS4 right now. I hope the game does not come out this year. This way MGS4 will be a better game. Plus Kojima and his team will get more power out of the PS3. So in doing this the people working on this game can take even more from the PS3 and put it into the game. But even if it does come out this year I have no doubt that MGS4 is going to be one wicked sweet game. So I can't wait to get my hand on this game so I can play it.
