You know what would stop all this BS? If Turn 10 came out and just said Gran Turismo 5 will be a better looking game or at the least retract their BS statement about being the definitive racing game this generation.

Also I'm curious why people are this gung ho over a racing game anyways. When I think racing games I think the only real seller compared to competition is the graphics. You need to squeeze out the best looking game possible, because gameplay, cars, tracks, style, music etc is all something any developer can mimic and copy with ease. You can't however mimic and copy an engine that produces a game that blurs the line between reality and a game: Gran Turismo 5 does that.

It'd be like if a rival franchise to Madden started next year, did its thing for 2 game entries, and wasn't better than Madden's installments. Now all of the sudden the new guy wants to tell everyone he needs a wheel chair for his dong because it's so big when the reality is it isn't even near that. Turn 10 turned themselves into a penis joke, and now are having to do a lot of work to convince people it's as big of a deal as they claim it to be when they know it's BS. Gran Turismo 5 and Polphony Digital don't have to do that and never have wanted to do that. They just offer the experience they want to please themselves and hopefully others like them.

Comparisons in general are nothing but fuel. This whole generation is nothing but one big tired war of nonsense and it's out of control. The gaming media is completely worthless and blog sites by kids and immature adults don't help.

I don't read reviews for their scores, don't care about sales charts, could do without all the hype and PR spin, or all the other nonsense surrounding gaming today.

All I care about is the GAMES!
I don't care what company creates or publishes them or what console they run on. All I care about is the entertainment I get from them.

Anyway, there ARE comparisons between the builds of both games shown last week at TGS 09 and the winner is still Forza Motorsport:

With GT5 having such heavy problems with the framerate I doubt they will manage to both improve framerate and visuals in a few months. They've been working on this for many years to get to this point.

So, in the end, this could well end up as:

Best cars: GT5
Best environments: Forza 3
Best Visuals Overall: Forza 3

In terms of gameplay we'll have to wait until the final games. In terms of functionality, connectivity and community options Forza 3 has no rival.

In the end, both will be great games that will appeal to each userbase.

GTp if you look at it closely smokes forza 3, forza seems very colorful and tacky at best.

It is that coloring that makes the game seem so... arcady like a ridge racer with enhanced visuals. If you were to walk outside now even you would notice reality isn't as colorful, shoot the only colorful things you'll most likely find in the street besides the traffic lights are some shirts and signs and maybe some cars.

But that's it. Forza to be honest with you feels like PGR toned down to feel more realistic, I hope GT5 won't have the feature to freeze time and rewind. That is the dumbest thing to do for a racing game.

I mean, if they claim to be a simulator, there's no 2nd chances in a race. I saw a video of that and thought, 'wtf you can't rewind'. I also didn't like how they have guided paths to show you how to take curves. GT only does that for License tests which is appropriate. You can't call it a simulator and then add all these 'lifelines'

just looking at the lighting and the level of detail in GTp just shows how superior this game is. i don't really care all that much about the environment, this isn't uncharted now. this is a freaking racing game. just saying.

Yeah the rewind feature shouldn't even exist but the lines on the road are something that I think can be disabled.

It's not a bad thing to add for people who maybe aren't so good at these kinds of driving games so that they can learn and improve and eventually play without them, kinda like training wheels. It isn't the blasphemous addition that people seem to be making it out to be.

I'm probably going to suck at aspects of GT5 when it comes out and I wouldn't mind a little bit of help with my lines to be perfectly honest, just in the beginning so I can learn a little and then turn it off forever.

Wow, you really showed just how much you don't know. The car used when hitting that was a Lamborghini. The front end is very low to the ground and when hit at the right angle, the car will flip...however due to the angle and speed and direction the car was driving, the car then rode the rail because it was in a forward motion thus the car wanted to continue in the direction, but the impact caused the car to go up since the the right front side (angle) of the car hit. It's called PHYSICS 101, you may have skipped that class.

Now eventually the momentum is going to slow down due to friction, which is the steel or Fiberglass body scraping along the asphalt. The car eventually came to a stop and the weight of the car then caused it to fall onto its roof. Again PHYSICS 101 here. Now i am assuming that you were referring to the rocking back an forth of the car. The reason why the car was rocking was because the user was just tapping the acceleration trigger. If you hold down the acceleration trigger, the car will flip back onto his wheels so that the player can continue the race. This was OBVIOUSLY added so that the user doesn't just have to sit there with a car on its roof while the game continues, this allows the player to continue to play, and not be stuck on his roof while the other players are still playing.

This is PRETTY OBVIOUS for someone that ACTUALLY PLAYED the game. But to someone that is as ignorant as yourself, you just use videos on the internet and think you know what you are talking about.
