IGN GDC 09: Parabellum Update Preview – Counter-Strike meets MMO

IGN writes: "It's a bit weird to call Parabellum an MMO, since the battles in the game are limited to 16 people at a time. But it is an MMO in that you have a persistent online character that levels up as you play. Leveling up doesn't make you more powerful, but it does unlock more weapons and items that you can equip to customize your character. There's also a big social area where all the players can mingle and chat between missions. Oh, and it's a free-to-play game built on the Unreal engine. That covers the bullet points for Parabellum, but in general this could be the game that draws a lot of Counter-Strike fans, for reasons listed below."
