I just signed up, and got my confirmation e-mail, so I'll see. While I don't really see this succeeding, I'm willing to give it a try, if for nothing else than to be able to play PC games my system can't run. Who knows, it might just be the next big step, stranger things have happened.

2.3 - Just signed up
Figured I would give it a try. If it's not too expensive and it works well then it has potential to be a nice addition to my PS3.

In case there are fanboys that want to hit "disagree" just because I said "PS3", I occasionally play my brother's 360 when I'm at his house. whew..

Its not that they are ignoring you all, The company is US based and they want to set up 4-5 Locations localy to see if it takes off. Keep the cost low so if it fails they don't bury them selves in huge debt.

And Yes I signed up.

3.6 - me and a friend had this idea
we were gonna invest in this when we had a proper company setup (getting money from other stuff)
but i guess we will see if this was a good idea or not without getting us into debts

5.1 - Thank you Obama
Though Obama is giving broadband in America the largest overhaul anywhere in the world, each state is given hundreds of millions to billions of dollars, so I don't really think anyone in the US will have to worry by the time onlive comes around

Obama's broadband plan is still few years off though. Even while its in action right now it will take 1-5 years before progress is seen. My area just got a boost before Obama's broadband plan came about.

9 - haha this is going to fail
Its going to be funny when theres OnLive fanboys! Either way. This will survive for probably a year or maybe 2 years. Then say goodbye to Onlive. These services never succeed. For one. Not everyone has highspeed internet. So that leaves out tons of people. This could maybe work when the U.S. broadband infrastructure is at 100%. But its more around 60% right now. 2nd people don't like the idea of not having a disk based game. What if your internet died for a few days? Then you couldn't even play any games. This service is going to be a big failure. Its maybe worth trying. But I just cant see this going on to long.

I signed up for it last night & received my confirmation e-mail right after that.I hope that I get in, too. So many people were putting it down yesterday, I figure I would save my judgement until after I try it out.

But then again, that's what everyone said about Steam back in the day. Even I said things along those lines. Now about 50% of my games are purchases through Steam. There's a large market now and definitely in the future for various forms of Digital Distribution.

The big factor is not the virtuality of the service, but the execution. For example, just look at Xbox Live versus Games for Windows Live versus Steam. Two of them are successful, while one is a miserable failure because it failed to execute properly with its platform. Then there is price, efficiency, simplicity, and ultimately, availability. I don't think we can predict anything until after the service is around, and even then, they might be a strong enough company to soldier through criticism and make it better (witness the development of Live for example).

It sounds like an alright idea, though I like being able to use my console(s) as the center of my home entertainment setup.

Signed up. The fact they're looking for beta testers seems to indicate that these guys are serious. This OnLive service just might be able to pull off an upset in the console war.
